What kind of physical condition is Mullins in and how long has he been back?

Better team won last night, period. GC beat SK in every statistical category. SK came out of half time flat and that 9 point sprint GC went on was enough to seal the deal. SK didn't guard or rebound all night, if you can't stop dribble penetration and your bigs have to rotate over every trip down court it puts them out of position to rebound. When that happens your bigs have to work harder to battle for position and they didn't do it.

I think Grammer proved last night that he is an elite level coach. Putting in the 3-2/ 1-2-2 whatever you want to call it late in the first half, then coming out in man to start the second half, I believe really threw SK off guard. Before the game I think you would have given the edge to SK because of experience at the coaching position, but after tonight I think that edge has been erased. Grant is the most talented team in the region and if the play every game like they did last night, nobody is beating them.

I would disagree with you. Coaching is the reason why I think they will not win the region. Going to a zone does not make you an "elite level coach" that is just "coaching". SK got plenty of good looks against the zone inside and out. Grammer needs to coach more and cry to the officials and his asst coaches less. He has a nice squad and sometime his crying I thinks fuels the big lanky kid (sorry don't know his name) and gets him ready to rip someone's head off. And that is what they don't need. I thought Adkins done a nice job last night trying to keep the big kid calm in the 2nd half. Don't know what region officials are calling the 8th region but they may not look the other way as much as the 8th region does when he starts doing what he does.

I agree. I really liked to watch Grant County play this summer and the way Grammer coached them. He has done some very good stuff at Grant County. Hopefully he will stay for a long time. Back to Back district titles don't just occur.

Grammer won back to back district titles at Grant County for the first time since 89. That makes him a pretty good coach in my book. I was just throwing the zone information out as an example of his coaching. The tall lanky one I believe you are referring to is Jordan Saylor. While he does have a firery personality, his energy and intensity fuels Grant County and Grammer did a great job of utilizing that energy last night.

Reality check. Last night was the first win over an 8th region team that has a plus .500 record. 6-6 against the 8th, and 4 of those six were wins over Walton-Verona and Williamstown. They were beaten by 20 by both Oldham and Shelby, 17 by Collins, and were swept by Owen. All good teams, mind you. I know they had some injuries and other missed time in some of those games, and the Owen games were basically coin flips. But, that's their resume

Am I being a prisoner of the current moment? Probably. But winning back to back district titles for the first time since the 80's is a big deal for Grant County. Are they a perfect team. No. Do they show up every game? No. But it's tournament time and anything can happen.

I don't rember GC's #21 from the first game but he hit the glass in the first half. Schneider was strong as well after limited minutes in the regular season game.
