Yes comes up almost always. I never answer.

Girlfriend and I have been looking for a dog. She found one she really liked and I agreed. I asked how much and she said $500. Then said she already made the $200 deposit.

Yes it is....And that's not including the $500+ that's likely from the various supplies (crate, toys, food, etc.) and initial vet bill.

 

We paid $350 for our dog. Imagine my surprise when the total initial expense approached $1k after vet, supplies, etc. :lol2:

I adopted my dog from the animal shelter, I promise you guys you can't possibly be happier with your dogs than I am my mutt. I'm not knocking your want for a pure breed but I'd encourage everyone to at least consider shelter dogs.

I've always heard multiply the woman's by 3 and divide the man's by 3.

We looked into shelter dogs, but we wanted a puppy. Every puppy we found at shelters was at least 2x the cost of what we ended up getting.
