BJN
Their field is not regulation size. They can't host any tournments there. Plus there isn't enough parking to have a big tournment there.
plantmanky
This helps baseball and softball almost as much as football. They can get out on a turf field in the early spring and do drills when its wet, unlike grass fields. The saved practice time in the spring is huge when schools have a turf field to use. Golden1
any one know roughly what the cost of a turf field is?
Jumper_Dad
Over a million with prep work for the ground and depending on how much color and design you put on the field. The price had dropped some a few years ago the last time I talked to my neighbor that sells turf fields.

Jumper_Dad
Okay, 6 years ago when the final vote came the board voted 3 to 2 against installing turf at the schools. Preliminary estimate for both schools is at $4.2 million, but Superintendent said final price may be lower. Fast Forward to 2021 and the Board voted this week to move ahead with turf and new tracks at both schools. Superintendent said that new fields would be a good selling point used in attracting athletes to the schools in the coming years.
