Dunbar is coming on strong. I know I got at least one or two looks or questions about putting them in at #1 in my preseason poll, but they're making me look good now. Neutral court wins against Manual and Doss in the span of 8 days are nothing to sneeze at.

The crazy thing: Dunbar may be the #4 seed in their district.

Any official stats for the game?

Definitely wondering what kind of show Darius Williams and Taveion Hollingsworth put on.

Dunbar trailed by 5 with :45 seconds left. Taveion Hollingsworth took over and got two big steals and put backs. Hollingsworth finished with 33 for the Bulldogs. Darius Williams added 16 and Jordan Lewis had 10 points to go with 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

Doss was led by Dujanta Weaver with 25 and Delvonte McCloud added 15.

Want to give a huge shout out to Vince Clark for the Bulldogs with 9 big points off the bench. Great game for him.

How close was Dunbar to cracking the BGP rankings this week?

Since they've been healthy and at full strength, they've beaten the #7 - Doss, #9 - Lexington Catholic, #13 - Manual, and #17 - Boyle County.

They've also lost to #9 - Lexington Catholic, #12 - Bryan Station (both by single digits), and Wayne Co by 1 in 12th Region territory. They've also beaten a very good Henry Clay team.

The craziest thing about that body of work: it all happened in about a three week span.

Appreciate the info.

Sounds like Taveion Hollingsworth should start getting attention from schools given how well he's played this year. Seems like there have been tons of games where he's posted incredible lines.

They weren't in the discussion for last week's rankings.

Any chance that changes this week?

Hard to rank a team with a losing record. I can promise you that's the furthest thing from Dunbar's mind right now.

Couldn't tell you.:idunno:

This was by far the best game I have seen Darius play in a while. That's not a knock against him, but he made so so many great passes when he drew the defenders it really changed the game. It might sound dumb, but I think Darius is a much better player at 25 pts than at 40.

He was fantastic. Agree on the passes, I have no idea how he got some of then through.

I had them 22, and expect them to move up this week.

Having watched them play twice, they are every bit of a top 20 team.

My thoughts as well. If they aren't a top 20 team, or at least really close to it, then the rankings that put the #7, #9, #13, #17 teams ahead of them that they've now beaten were off. Pretty impressive three week stretch for them. Lots of those games were on quick turnaround.

Dunbar has been impressive the past month. I would hate to face them come tournament time. Darius Williams can play and he's at his best when he his dishing the ball and setting up his teammates bc most defenses are focusing on him. I've noticed the Hollingsworth kid had been tearing it up all season. What grade is he in?
