Didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, but Grant won't be playing a district schedule the next two seasons from the sound of it.

Word is Tackett made a mistake. That's the only explanation I've been able to get

Why would they opt to move out of district play. I mean, they are already in the playoffs.

That used to be a common practice. Anywhere from 3 to 15 teams would opt out for a couple of years...so they could schedule teams with which they could be competitive. If you are in a monster district, makes a lot of sense if your program has been suffering greatly.

 

I think I would rather have a competitive season...maybe 3 or 4 wins...against teams I knew were of equal caliber...than to go 1-9 or 0-10 just so I could make the playoffs...and get another whopping loss to finish the season.

 

Also was interested in the "Tackett's fault" comment. Does anyone really think he does ALL of the KHSAA's paperwork?

Cov Cath, Dixie, and Highlands as a district. Out of district would of been a better fit for the program.

 

As far Tackett made a mistake that is what I was told. He I believe cleared it up with the school after the school got questions and they had no clue. Also no one said its "Tackett's Fault" though I get we're mistake and fault are interchangeable. Using quotation marks makes it look like a direct quote which it is not.

They are in district. Unless there is even more confusion they will be in the district

So, Grant County is not opting out of district play?
