Adair County 2015

Featured Replies

What does Adair County need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I think it's safe to say they now have a much more favorable district, with losing South Warren.

They seemed to have had an extremely good year, and I've seen several people mention the fact that most of their players are returning. I think it could be interesting to see what happens with them.

Does anyone have Adair County's schedule for this year?

Aug 21, Taylor County 7:00

Aug 28, @ Caverna 7:00

Sep 4, @ LaRue County 8:00*

Sep 11, Metcalfe County 7:00

Sep 18, @ Russell County 7:00

Sep 25, @ Kentucky Country Day 7:30

Oct 2, Edmonson County 7:00 *

Oct 16, Elizabethtown 7:30 *

Oct 23, @ Hart County 7:00 *

Oct 30, Casey County 7:00

That is a really favorable schedule that they should be able to handle. Keep and eye on these guys. I hope Johnny comes back to take about them. He had passion last year about his Adair County guys.

May be the easiest schedule I have seen in years

I think their game with Taylor could be really fun to watch. I'm not going to be like some people and claim Taylor to be a sleeping giant, but I do think they will be better than people expect and could very easily make some noise and turn some heads.

Murderers Row this schedule ain't, but I would expect them to get some challenges and be tested, especially by Taylor and Etown especially. I wouldn't be surprised to see that LaRue game be pretty good, as well. And since Casey has beaten them 2 years straight, I would go ahead and just put that game as a challenge.

Either way, it's nice to see a non traditional team have a chance to win quite a few games. New blood and new faces are always nice.

The old BCS computers won't like it for strength of schedule points, that's for sure...but, it's also wasn't that long ago that Adair was winning 1-4 games against that same schedule, also.

They have won 4 or more since Travis Gay got there in 2011. That's a stat most would laugh at as a "So what", but I doubt its ever been done in any other coaches tenure at a place that has almost always been in the "Bottom 20 Programs" of the state most years. This is a program that lost to Caverna and Breckinridge the year before he got there.

They have some dudes coming through the school right now that might be the best ever, a coach that is as good as any young HC out there, an admin that gives a rip (they just spent about 50K on a weight room overhaul) and a favorable schedule. That's the ultimate recipe for success.

If you had told somebody 5 years ago, 10 years ago or any years ago ever that an Adair team had a fairly decent shot at 8,9 or 10 wins they would have though you were talking about a 4 year span.

I'm always going to defend the up and coming schools and the underdog type schools. Because when nobody expects them to do something and they do, they still get blasted for not having a Trinity schedule.

I have several friends familiar with the program, and I remember one of them telling me that in Gay's first year, they scored 28 against Caverna. And this year they scored what, 75? Having grown up on and around the lake, these schools will always have my support.
