Ally Mayhaus sat out for HC; Sydney Shannon sat out for Brossart. Emily Schultz with huge game for Brossart....30 points and 14-for-14 from foul line. Brossart built close to 13-pt lead in second half before HC chipped away with some big 3's and Brossart missed a few FT's in 4th quarter....think HC cut it to 3 with a little less than a minute remaining. Deja Turner had very nice game as well with 24 points for HC.

Congrats to Bishop Brossart. Shot well, handled the ball extremely well. Holy Cross played without energy and shot terribly from all spots on the floor, tho they hit a few late 3s. Every time they made a run, Schultz would get the ball underneath or on a break and power in for an old-fashioned 3-point play. She was deadly from the foul line, too.

 

Puzzled by HC's "go small" strategy. With the one Mayhaus hurt, the other Mayhaus got few minutes and I believe just seconds in the second half. The girl who starts in the "4" position, Hassert, was subbed in and out. She had 12 points, but she was put on the bench for much of the 4th. And C. Turner, one of the primary "bigs" off the bench who's had some spot starts, played almost none at all. For much of the second half, HC had four or five guards on the floor. As a result, Brossart owned the boards and Schultz just went wild.

That is kinda strange. Hasset can be a workhorse. I like her game. Maybe some illness going on?

I agree. Didn't see it coming. Having Ally Mayhaus out makes a big difference for sure. However, Brossart was missing one of their really good bigs as well in Sydney Shannon. So it still confuses me a little. Sounds like Schultz ruled the roost last night.

 

Congrats to the Mustangs. Hopefully they are finding their rhythm after a large senior class departure from last year?

9th Region teams are hard to predict, I guess you can add 10th to that list as well. Solid couple of wins by BB the last few games. We might have some real horse races in both Regions.
