FairFan Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Very good game. Curley stated had a rough first game pitching 3 innings giving up 4 runs. Chas Moore came in relief and gave up 3 runs all unearned. Curley went 2-2 with 2 hrs and 5 RBI.
FairFan Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Not sure on the name but it was #10. Big Right hander threw the ball well.
Raiderbback04 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Congrats to Chris Curley on getting off to a great start. I can't imagine how many times he will get intentionally walked this year. Outstanding ball player.
Champs05 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Congrats to Chris Curley on getting off to a great start. I can't imagine how many times he will get intentionally walked this year. Outstanding ball player. Yes Curly did hit two Homers. But not only is Beechwood going to need him to hit but they are going to need him to pitch more importantly and him giving up 4 runs against Boone County isn't going to cut it.

In his defence, two of those were after an error.

Diamond Dandy Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 It's early...Chris will improve by mid season, that's just a fact. He is hittable, everybody is hitable....my prediction is that Beechwood does not have any pitching behind Chris. But at the plate....WOW Is Chris on pace for a 60 home run season?????????
Qryche11 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 How big is Curly? He didnt look very big in a recent picture I saw in the newspaper. Although, I used to watch little guys when I was in high school who had tremendous bat speed and quick wrist who would hit for many homers.

I would guess that Chris is about 6'1" and 180 pounds but I do not know for sure. You are exactly right about tremendous bat speed and quick wrists. That's Chris to a tee (it almost looks like he is hitting off a tee he makes it look so easy).

No he is a little shorter than that, he's probably about 5'9 or 5'10

He looks like he is barley going to throw it, then all of a sudden its going 90 mph and the batter stands there wondering what happened.

Chris is one of the best around as he does everything seemingly effortlessly. Fun player to watch.

WebGems37 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 A couple of notes on the game. First of all don't take anything a way from Boone. They have a lot of young talent and some quality players. Playing with Beechwood doesn't surprise me one bit. They actually should have won the game but that's where you give credit to the Tigers. Boone was up 7-5 heading into the top of 7. Where a Rebel reliever walked 3 guys and gave up a couple of hits to make the game 8-7 in the Tigers favor. The Tigers definitely didn't bring there A game but you gotta tip your hat to Boone countering on the errors. - Krohman was the pitcher for Boone - Curley had a gun on him and was consistently 85 and 86 with his fast ball.
