Dorian Henry leads Mason County with 18 points & 6 rebounds. Conner Sweeney puts in a career-high 10 points. Jake O'Mara with 8 points & 11 boards.

Austin Crawford leads all scorers with 25 points & added 11 rebounds.

Never in doubt; that's all I can say about this one.

Freshman game 39-26 MC.

JV game 52-20 MC.

It was a game of runs........... Unfortunately none of the runs were Bracken's.

I wasn't there. Listening to Danny Weddle.

The Royals opened the game on a 20-0 run and never looked back. Bracken County had no match for O'Mara and Henry in the paint.

The 2 most exciting moments tonight:

1. The starting lineup introduction for Mason County

2. Johnson's fast-break alley-oop to Henry for the monstrous slam

Running clock for much of this one.

Crawford played every second and got his. He can start on any team in the 10th. Unfortunately, the supporting cast gave him very little help.

Nice to see all the reserves get significant playing time.

Didn't make the game papa but I'll take a "rain check" on the popcorn for the Murph. I did listen on the radio and it sounded like Mason dominated completely. Even when they subbed in, which Coach O'Hearn did early in the 3rd and all of the 4th quarters, it sounded as though Bracken still struggled. As I said in another thread earlier, I've always had Mason in the #2 slot in the Region. I hope Bracken's tougher than usual schedule is a learning experience for them rather than a demoralizing one.

It's been a rough start but with all things equal we played arguably the best in the tenth (Mason), the third best team in the state (KCC), and depending on who you ask the 4 or 5 team in the 10th (Augusta) which like always was a great game all the to final horn, and a very good MoCo team (5-6 in the 10th) which we stayed with until mid 3rd quarter. Throw in a good Beechwood team at their place which was only a 10 point game. Not making excuses but this team has definitly been tested to say the least. They are very young with limited varsity experience. Their record does not bear it out but they are improving with every game. I've said it before and I'll say it again their best basketball is still ahead of them. :thumb:
