Colerain - Trinity gives up 447 total yards: 213 rushing (ouchies), 234 passing (ouchies x 2)

 

Cocoa, Fl - Trinity gives up 337 total yards: 176 rushing (pretty good chunk), 161 passing

 

Male #1 - Trinity gives up 276 total yards: 84 rushing (very, very good!) 192 passing

 

Male #2 - Trinity gives up 337 total yards: 29 rushing (WTH? wow...) 308 passing (ouch)

 

Moeller - Trinity gives up 337 total yards: 103 rushing, 234 passing

 

Ensworth, TN - Trinity gives up 238 total yards: 57 rushing (awesome!), 181 passing

 

Indy Cathedral - Trinity gives up 342 total yards: 53 rushing, 289 passing

 

...so I see what you guys are talking about in the run defense.

 

But how many of these teams are run-first offenses? Has Trinity withstood a constant play-after-play battering and not worn down? I don't know...but I do know that Meade's defense has shown quite a hard-nosed toughness when it mattered.

 

Conclusion: This one will be won in the trenches for sure.

Most of the games you listed here had teams that can pass the ball effectively. The passing game opened up the run game, if you are run run run, pass only when absolutely necessary it will be a challenge to sustain any drives against T.

 

I don't question Meade's ability to play defense, holding Male to 17 points is impressive, so Trinity may struggle to score on Meade but Trinity's offense is more balanced. The balanced offense is going to be more effective against a good defense than an offense whose strength is the same as the opposing teams defensive strength.

Too early in the week for me to get my blood pressure about this one. I do know that these Meade kids know who is coming. I have no idea who will win, but mentally, at this point, I would say we have an advantage.

I know know about Meade, Trinity or Ballard so for me to make a prediction would be a bad idea. Just hoping for some great games and that all four teams make it out of Friday's contests injury free. Good luck to all teams!

As much as I hate to say it, I think your right. I have faith in Meade's ability, but there is something different about playing a school like Trinity. It does get in your head a little bit. I'm sure that the boys in Meades locker room are well aware of the caliber team they're about to play against. I just hope that they can stay confident and play a solid game.

Once the game starts, it all goes out the window....but it does help with preparation and over analyzing, etc.....pregame, you can be too hyped....

I'm sure that Trinity is heavily favored in this game, but for their sake, I hope that they don't look past this Meade county team. Either way it goes, it won't be an easy win for either team (hopefully Meade pulls it out). I'm just hoping for a great game and a great crowd by both teams. I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Oops, I also meant to point out that I has stated Trinity's total defense was porous -- not just run defense, but total. And I think the yardage stats I posted helped prove that statement. Although Meade does not have a strong passing game, I think Meade's offense will still effective enough to drive and score. I don't know if you Trinity guys ever saw Central Hardin's defense, but it was a darn good one that Meade managed to dismantle.

Well now that you put it to us like that. I hope Trinity can just try to slow down the Meade County offense. The Rocks haven't really gone up against a team that is capable of only running the ball effectively. I just hope the Rocks can keep it respectable. I mean within 3 TDs of the Greenwave would be an achievement in and of itself.

 

I can only hope our porous defense will slow down the running game of Meade enough so that they stumble and trip on their own since there is really very little chance of our boys stopping it. Against a schedule like Meade has played, the Rocks would have struggled to score a pount. Really looking like the Rocks will be a serious underdog visiting Brandenburg on Friday. I can only hope we don't embarrass ourselves too much.

Trinity has played such a weak schedule I don't see how they can hope to step-up a level and play an absolute juggernaut like Meade County.

 

Guess we'll see Friday.

 

With no disrespect intended because any team that goes to Georgetown to play Scott County and leaves with a W is worthy of respect but other then Scott Co., Meade's schedule was lackluster at best.
