I heard tha t Lewis County and Greenup aren't playing in the district. To much competition. Can't compare to Raceland or Russell.

 

You seem to be becoming the Greenup/Lewis defender!:jump: No one has degraded these two programs in any way. They are only commenting on the potential of the two teams that have already been mentioned in this post! Relax.

This was a thread about Whitney Seals. Now Jay Bilas makes Raceland the favorite, WVBoy declines the Raceland invitation to be pre-season District favorite all the while complimenting the Raceland staff on something, I'm not sure what. Possibly better dressers than the Russell staff. Bball Observer is hot that noone gives Greenup and Lewis some airtime. And Old Rambler has made Whitney a Rock Star with her hit "Hit Me Baby One More Time".

 

On a serious note about district favorites since Jay brings it up. I will agree with WVBoy that until Greenup, Lewis, or Raceland beats the Lady Devils they will always be the favorites.

 

I also congratulate Whitney and Paige Porter on their EKC Awards as well as all the other girls in the EKC conference.

Hey TBF, I didn't catch that spelling mistake even after reading over before posting. English wasn't my best subject at Raceland - lol. That it what is so good about BGP - most exchanges are all in good fun and I am able to take a razzing with the best of them. (and I still have an old basketball jersey with"Ramblers" and not Rams on the front - lol.")

I remember the Ramblers. In fact both my older brothers were Ramblers. I think it changed to Rams by the time I was in high school tho. About fifteen years ago, I came across two football films of the Ramblers and converted them VHS for my brothers as a Christmas present. They were actually in the films and it made Christmas for the whole family that year!

I believe that it was around 1974 or so, when football coach Larry Heck came to Raceland he started it and it just kind of stuck. I graduated in 75' and the name was the "Rams" then. Don't worry, the basketball jersey is like the golf shirt that I have from h.s. days - probably couldn't pull it down over me now - lol.
