With 7 seconds to go in game GRC scores and pulls off the big upset.

Love the way this new coach is turning this program around this year.

Bourbon appears to have played a soft schedule.

Bourbon appears to have played a soft schedule.

You can't say that for GRC.....:D

What is ironic, is the coach we just fired, is now an assistant for Bourbon Co.

Love seeing this one turn out the way it did.

After seeing both teams early in the season, I can say this one is a true shocker to me.

Way to go GRC! You all have exceeded my prediction with determination, resilience, and playing with heart! I am proud of you! Keep it going!

[h=3]Sharrock Bourbon[/h]Clark senior quarterback Luke Sharrock eludes the rush of Bourbon County's Shelby Jackson before getting off a pass in the second quarter Friday night at Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinals play host to Ryle in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs Friday night at Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

[h=1]Cards rally to beat Bourbon[/h]Wilhite hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Luke Sharrock with seven seconds remaining to give the Cardinals an exciting 27-20 triumph over Bourbon County. Clark outscored the Colonels 21-7 in the fourth quarter to cap a successful comeback. Bourbon, ranked No. 7 in Class 3A, defeated the Cards 41-0 last season in Paris.

“What a comeback!” Clark coach Mike Riddle said. ““We made plays on offense, scored touchdowns in the red zone and made plays on defense. That's how you win. I'm so proud of our guys. I'm so proud of their toughness, enthusiasm, grit and their tenacity and they refuse to lose.”

Clark paid tribute to its 19 seniors and one of those — Luke Sharrock — threw three touchdown passes to pace the offense. Sharrock's game-winner to Wilhite tipped off a Bourbon County defenders hands before Wilhite snagged it in and ran in for the score. Wilhite scored two touchdowns for the Cards.

Sharrock completed 19 of 36 passes for 169 yards and three scores. Sharrock also added 43 yards rushing, also a team-high. Wilhite had 37 yards receiving, while Malachi Israel, a senior, had a team-high 48 yards receiving.

The Cards (5-5) now set their sights on the playoffs and will open the postseason at home for the first time in four years. Clark lost to Campbell County 35-34 in the Class 6A playoffs in 2010 at Cardinal Stadium.
