South Warren 45 Russellville 22

Featured Replies

It's partially because of the second string, but it's the most points given up by South Warren in two years. Doesn't matter - they're undefeated in the regular season.

Great first half but Russellville just ran out of steam when they came out after half. Russellville had a lot of speed and completed some passes deep.

South all and all looked perry strong all night moved the ball well. Mcelwain, Allen, Litten Cummings, Lacy, Colton all had strong nights.

Russleville's qb and running back are very strong. There running back is very hard to bring down and runs strong once he got past the line. There qb and receivers burnt south a few times but they also got lucky on a few tip balls for completions. All and all this was the most athletic team south has played thus far this season.

IMHO, South Warren has cemented themselves as the team to beat in 3A. Even a healthy Belfry team will face an uphill test against SW.

Big win for South. Russellville is a good team.

Russellville's big #12, Desmond Quarles, did not play in the second half. The Panthers couldn't get much up the middle after he left the game. They hung with SW until the half and it would probably have been tied at the half but a Russellville scoop and score fumble return was called back for a holding penalty. Russellville kept the ball but was intercepted in the end zone. I don't think any team in Kentucky who only dresses 30-35 players could beat the Panthers. They have only lost to teams who have double the roster they do.
