I was hoping Russellville could get over the hump this time. This sounds a little like their game against FS, when R-ville jumped up 14-0 early but FS was able to wear them down in the second half and win by 1. If every other 1a team only had a 25-30 man roster, the Panthers would probably be good enough to win state.

After all is said above here's my take... we can win when we play like crap against a really good team. And the backflip by the Russellville player was the turning point in the game... We got the momentum after that and never lost it. It was a pretty backflip though...

Maybe he can come give lessons to the Mustangs. They are running out of material for celebration penalties.:ohbrother:

Maybe it's just Russellville has been really good.. I do think they've been the best 1a team Mflds played the last 2 years. It's kinda like Cov Cath in several years.. They may well have been the 2nd best team in there class, but, couldn't get over the Highlands hump. Same with Rsv getting over the Mfd hump..

I heard on the way home Coach Myers (who used to coach at Mayfield and probably knows the system better than most coaches in the state) say they prepared for 3 weeks for this game.

WOW. That says a lot that Mayfield won this game then. If that was 3 weeks of prep for a pretty good team then that speaks louder about Mayfield because Mayfield didn't spend 3 weeks prepping for Russelville.
