Bengals sign Greg Little for WR help

The Bengals lost their 10-touchdown man for the season Tuesday when they put wide receiver Marvin Jones on season-ending injured reserve and replaced him with former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little.

It looks like Jones is headed for surgery on his troublesome ankle that has bothered him since the spring. It’s believed that both he and wide receiver A.J. Green (toe) visited foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C. Tuesday.

The Bengals brought in a host of wideouts to work out Tuesday before they settled on Little, among them former Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor and former Bengals sixth-round pick Cobi Hamilton, released on this past cutdown day. They wanted to sign Hamilton to the practice squad then, but did on Tuesday when they released rookie receiver Colin Lockett. They also released newly-signed linebacker Khairi Fortt, leaving them another spot on the roster.

^ I liked Hamilton in the preseason and thought he might stick.

Did he not have some drops in pre-season? But on the upside at least he was open enough to throw it to.

Not sure. He caught my eye two or three times.

Found this:

NFL suspended free agent LB Erin Henderson four games.

The ex-Viking has been popped for drunk driving twice in the past year. He claims he's sobered up. Cut by the Vikings in February, Henderson hasn't generated a lick of interest on the open market. Now 28, Henderson started 12 games last season.Sep 4 - 5:29 PM

Free agent S Chris Clemons worked out for the Falcons.

After losing SS William Moore (shoulder) to short-term I.R. this week, the Falcons are in dire need of safety help. For now, 2013 seventh-rounder Kemal Ishmael is expected to start next to FS Dwight Lowery. Clemons is probably the best safety on the street. He started 32-of-32 games for Miami from 2012-2013. Titans waived/released LB Moise Fokou, T Jeff Adams, CB Ri'Shard Anderson, DL Chigbo Anunoby, TE Chase Coffman, LB Brandon Copeland, QB Dominique Davis, DE Marcus Dixon, WR Marc Mariani, G Justin McCray, FB Collin Mooney, OL Eric Olsen, T Will Poehls, WR Rico Richardson, WR Brian Robiskie, TE Jason Schepler and CB Winston Wright.

Fokou started 12 games for the Titans a year ago, but was one of the worst inside linebackers in the NFL. It's a trouble area for the Titans. Fokou lost a backup spot to Patrick Bailey. Aug 30 - 1:53 PM

Bears agreed to terms with S M.D. Jennings, formerly of the Packers, on a one-year contract.

Jennings was a 16-game starter for the Pack last season, but not an effective one, struggling mightily in coverage. The Bears have one of the league's weakest collection of safeties, however, so Jennings will definitely be in the mix to start. The Bears shouldn't be done adding bodies to the back line of their defense. Mar 12 - 1:32 PM

Well if he can catch your eye then maybe he can catch a ball.

Texans waived S Shiloh Keo.

S Josh Aubrey was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. An 11-game starter in place of Ed Reed last season, Keo had yet to appear in a game as he battled a calf injury. Largely ineffective in 2013, Keo has made 42 career appearances. Three months shy of his 27th birthday, he'll search for reserve/special teams work. Sep 30 - 2:07 PM

Well, he is on the Bengals active 53 man roster so he caught their eye too.

From Bengals.com:

Hamilton re-wrote much of Arkansas’ receiving record book and looks to break through in 2014 after spending rookie season on Bengals practice squad ... Had a TD catch in 2013 preseason ... A versatile player with good size, he left Arkansas as tops in career catches (175) and third in receiving yards (2835) ... As senior, set Razorback season marks for receptions (90) and receiving yards (1335) ... Set SEC record in 2012 for receiving yards in a game (303, vs. Rutgers).

Career transactions: Selected by Cincinnati in sixth round of 2013 NFL Draft (197th overall) ... Signed with Bengals on 5-11-13 ... Waived by Bengals on 8-31-13 ... Signed to Bengals practice squad on 9-1-13 ... Signed to Bengals roster on 1-6-14.

2013 recap: On practice squad for Games 1-16 ... Played in all four preseason games, catching seven-for-68, including four-yard TD reception from Josh Johnson on Aug. 24 at Dallas.

More college highlights: Played four seasons (2009-12) at Arkansas ... Started every game as a senior, and was a consensus All-SEC first-team selection and a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award (nation’s top receiver) ... Set school’s single-season record with 90 receptions, shattering previous mark of 66, and was the fourth player in SEC history to reach 90 in a season ... School record 1335 receiving yards (previous mark was 1117) ranked fourth all-time in SEC history, and he was only the third Razorback to crack 1000-yard mark ... Posted five games as a senior with 10 or more catches ... Earned multiple player of the week honors for record-setting performance vs. Rutgers, as he caught 10-for-303 with three TDs (57, 10 and 80 yards) to tie school record.

Personal: Hometown is Texarkana, Texas ... Attended Texas High School, where as a senior he recorded 64 receptions for school record 1071 yards, with 14 TDs ... Prep teammate of New England QB Ryan Mallett ... Also lettered in prep track, finishing fourth in 200 meters (21.41) at AAU National Junior Olympics ... Sociology major at Arkansas ... Enjoys horseback riding ... His mother, Deborah Hamilton (formerly Cooper), lettered on Arkansas’ inaugural women’s basketball team (1976-77) and is recognized as one of the school’s first African-American female student athletes ... First name is pronounced “KO-bee.”

NOTE ABOUT NFL EXPERIENCE: Hamilton did not earn an accrued year of experience toward NFL free agency in 2013 because he was not on a 53-player roster, a Reserve/Injured list or a Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list for the required minimum of six games that season.

I remember him when he was with the Briwns and is probably a big reason they have gone through so many QB's if that is any help lol. He had stone hands.
