NKY Districts Good games?

Featured Replies

And good first round matchups where the loser is out that you want to see? I guess Holy Cross / Beechwood and Dixie /Villa and then the 33rd games would be good ones.

33rd District Boone 2 Conner 1. Payton Black with 1 goal 1 asst Corrine Burke 1 Goal. Conner scored with 5 min left to pull to within 1 goal and Conners coach pulls their best player off and sits her the last 5 min!! Not sure the logic here.

Ryle was winning 3-0 at half over Cooper. Not sure who got the first goal Duggins got 2nd and Poe 3rd!! Looks like a rematch of last yrs district finals. Hope the game is as good this yr as last years double OT thriller...

Highlands beats Dayton 10-0, it was 9-0 at half and mercy rule stopped the game early in second half. This sets up a rematch with NCC on Wed. Would like to think HHS can win this game, but still think coaching is a mess and you never know what is going to happen. Saw 6 girls crying after a 10-0 win, coaching staff just does not have the backing from the girls. Poor, poor communication between players/coaches! Sad but many of the players are looking forward to the end of the season and anxious to see what is going to happen next year.

And we are back to HHS soap opera. Don't know what this thread has to do with this but I guess that is where this is headed again. They are asking about good district games. HHS vs NCC will be a good game. I am not sure if it's "Days of Birds Lives" or "Real Housewives of Fort Thomas". I guess I will have to tune in Wednesday night for the next episode. I don't know if I should bring popcorn or tissues. I will be glad when the seasons over so we don't have to listen to this anymore. For the seniors sake, I hope they can make a run. I find it funny that this site has been silent over the last couple of weeks and now this nonsense.

I was at the HHS vs. Dayton game. Didn't see anyone crying. The HHS coach took his team and talked to the Dayton team and coaches saying that they never gave up, they never quit. He talked about how admirable it was that they showed up to play. Then, the HHS coach and players joined the Dayton team for a huddle celebrating their season. He said that any team he knew would have given up at halftime bein down 9-0. But they came out the second half with new energy. He said he and his team learned from them about never giving up. This is. The HHS coach that I know.

Most likely Dayton showed up to play a district game so they could get a third of the gate. Should they even be allowed in districts when they didn't play the teams in their district during the season?

Where does it say they have to play the teams in their district? Seeds are determined one of two ways.....

1.......district play results....OR

2.......blind draw.

If it is determined that it is option 1 and they are happy with the last seed.......they don't have to play anyone......

Every district has the choice to set their own seeding plans. As of 2012, District 36 has a special agreement. Soccer District Girls Seeding Plans | Kentucky High School Athletic Association

Very informative.......so reading this......If Dayton doesn't play Bellevue, then essentially they are giving Bellevue the #3 and taking the #4. Neither have a chance at 1 or 2 because that is determined by NCC/HHS game.

My comments were to Gary's point about a team not playing any district games and still being able to participate in the district tourny......

So Bellevue and Dayton basically said the heck with it, we'll take #3 and #4

Teams can stipulate by majority vote to a District seeding plan of their choosing. It probably makes sense if you have a 4 team District with two very weak and two very strong teams to dsignate the 1/2 and 3/4 seeds. Might make less sense in a 4-team District with only one very strong team.

Say, what is the District seeding plan on the boys side in District 35... it isn't posted to the KHSAA site.
