MountainMan10 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Final. Congratulations Hazard, 14th region champs.
The Professor Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I listened to this one on the radio...101 FM. Those guys do a great job.... they call it just like it is. Jackson made a gutsy effort. I'm really proud of the Tigers. Just wish they could have made it over the hump. Hicks hit a 3 when the game was tied 50-50 late in the 4th quarter, and Jackson never recovered. It was whoever hit the first big shot at that point, and the Bulldogs were the one's that did it. Jackson City....you have made all small schools very proud. Put up a 14th Region Runner-up banner in your gym that covers one entire inzone. You deserve it.

Lightning Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I would like to congratulate Coach Spurlock and the Hazard Bulldogs on winning the 14th Region. Hopefully, this will open the eyes of the so called politicians and show them they have a great coach and would be making a huge mistake in letting him go. As for Jackson City, I would like to congratulate Coach Lively and the Tigers on a great season and a great run.
uk96 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Good win for the Dogs. Go represent the 14th region well at Rupp. Also, if the politicians in Hazard let Spurlock go there should be an investigation. They better be grateful for what they have and get over not being able to control him and make him play who they want. The guy has a state champioship ring and is taking them to the sweet 16. It would be pitiful if they let him go. I am not a Hazard fan just and honest one......
Flash Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Tough way to go out Tigers. You made believers out of a lot of people. Congratulations on runner up.
5wide Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Congrats to Hazard and JCS. Both teams left it on the court tonight...it's a shame someone had to lose. But, make no mistake, there were no losers on that court tonight, or last night for that matter. I can't say enough about the quality of basketball I witnessed this weekend. All of the teams played loose and played their game...and it made for some exciting, intense, suspenseful and great hoops action. Great job by coach Lively this year. His team played with as much heart as any I've seen in a long time, and that's a direct reflection on him, IMO. Keep up the good work Tigers, and hopefully we'll be watching you in the region finals again soon...and cutting the nets down, hopefully. :thumb:
RoundLeather Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 First off congradulations to Hazard on their hard fought 14th Region Championship, you worked hard for it and represent us well next week. CONGRADULATIONS to My Jackson City Tigers on a GREAT season and one heck of a run. You took all your fans on one heck of a ride. You gave so many people hope in so many aspects of their lives. "Never Quit". You have set an example for people to overcome and do the unthinkable no matter what the odds. You guys have been great and NO ONE will ever forget you. You boys are Champions in most people's eyes and you will remain Champions. When most folks counted you out, you never let it bother you and just went out and got the job done. Thanks for pouring your hearts out and making Jackson City a team and a school to be RESPECTED, and most of all, Thanks for the Wonderful Ride!!!! I'll never forget it and neither will the world. Go Tigers!
Jim Schue Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Congratulations to Hazard and especially Coach Spurlock! He's a super guy and an excellent coach. If, when I saw them earlier this season, someone were to tell me they would be getting to Rupp I would've asked them what section they were sitting in so I could come say hi.
Jim Schue Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 And great run by Jackson City. What a surprise!
RoundLeather Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I would just like to extend my congradulations to Jackson City's coaching staff, Head Coach Mr. Kyle Lively, assistanst Mr. Ryan Turner and Mr. John Couch. These kids not only believed in theirselves but they believed in you gentlemen also. You put your heart and soul into this team and everything has paid off greatly for you. So one last time, Thank you guys! Also, thanks to the fans who supported this group of Champions all year long and thanks to those whom we picked up on the way. It was everyone who helped carry this team through some tough games. Anyone who jumped onto the bandwaggon and helped us, thank you for your support. Thanks to the Breathitt County fans who came out and supported us. That really ment a lot to this team and it's fans. We need to come out each and every year and do the same for each other, because there is strength in numbers and we are all one big community. Riverside's fans were there also and thank you guys so much as Riverside has always felt like family to Jackson City. Thanks to all, and Go Tigers!!!!
lucky13 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Jackson gave it a good run, but in the end we just didn't have an answer for the Hicks kid. His shots fell, ours didn't.
Augger Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Congrats to Coach Spurlock and the Bulldogs on winning the 14th region. The region was wide open this year and Hazard was the team that was able to prevail. Jackson City has made a run that will not be forgotten anytime soon. Coach Lively and his players made believers that a small school can compete at a high level. I just hope that Jackson City is able to continue to build on this years success.
lucky13 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Congratulations to the Hazard Bulldogs on a great game and a big win. Here's hoping you represent the 14th Region well at Rupp and bring home the title. To our guys at Jackson City - the team, Coach Lively and Coach Turner: Thank You!!! This has been not only a wonderful basketball season and a great sports experience that won't be forgotten, but has also been just what this community has needed. Last night it didn't matter what school district you lived in, if you were from Breathitt Co. the chances were great that you were going to be rooting for the Tigers. The procession home and the welcome we received at the county line was a most amazing sight. Thanks so much to our police and fire departments for bringing our boys back in style. The lights and sirens and the line of cars that stretched as far as the eyes could see surely helped take a bit of the sting out of the loss. For anyone left at home or passing us on the road, if they didn't listen to the game, I'm sure they thought we had actually won! To our seniors: Kyle, Randy, Chase and this fan's personal favorite, Jordan, we will miss seeing you in our purple and gold next year. Thank you for 4 wonderful - and yes, sometimes not so wonderful - years. Never doubt that though you did not make it to Rupp, you are champs in our eyes.
