Clyde Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 6'5 Jay Murphy chose D3 NYU over Indy and Spring Hill.
tcjkbt Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Best of luck to him. NYU used to have some very good teams years ago.
Smallhoops Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 This is a great pick for Jay. NYU is a great school, and they play in a conference (the University Athletic Conference) that includes Brandeis (Boston area), Case Western (Cleveland), University of Chicago, Washington University (St. Louis), Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh), Rochester (New York), and Emory (Atlanta). May be the only D III league where teams fly to away games. Not bad for a player who likely won't start for his high school team in his senior season.
citycat Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 This is really quite an accomplishment for Trinity. Spalding (UofL), Ramser (Bellarmine), Murphy (NYU), Thieneman (to choose between Air Force and Marshall). Still leaves Stafford, Levitch and West who all have good D1/DII offers. I cannot remember a team getting so many kids to the next level to really good schools.

Aside from athletic opportunity, the "life" opportunites of going to NYU and living in New York are endless.

That's an impressive list of schools!
