Dillon Reed is going to play QB or so the story goes I heard last night. If so it is a shame for the kid who transferred out to Graves from Mf because he wanted the college exposure he would gain at Graves and could not get if at Mf.

That certainly isn't going as planned for him. I think I saw 2-16 receiving through three games...

 

Playing QB? I don't see that happening at all. If it does, that would be a way to keep him out of harms way if there is some concern about Mayfield going after him. But then again, the way Mayfield is getting to quarterbacks lately, that's not a safe bet either.

Having watched Graves play this year I was a little disappointed. I guess my expectations were a little too large for them after last season. Mayfield by as many as they wanna score.

Others say he is only taking some of the snaps, we will see

My opinion, at Graves he has the chance to stand out more from his peers, where at Mayfield they have more talent and speed than he has and that makes him look average.

I have no idea, that was just the reason he supposedly went to Graves because he was told colleges do not give looks to kids at small schools but do to kids at large schools

I never really considered him much of a college prospect myself. He's a good high school player that decided to go to graves so he could disappear in a passing offense that basically doesn't exist. They might say that's the reason, but most people that are in or around the mayfield program know the story. I hate it though, he would have been a very big part of this young cardinal team! I do wish him luck on the next level if he has the opportunity to do so.

I agree, his stepdad not being allowed to coach here anymore likely has a lot to do with it but I have never heard anyone say the kid cited that as being a reason so I didn't mention it

I don't blame him, I wouldn't wanna say that either. Who knows why? I was disappointed when I heard about it though.

Historically players that go from Graves to Mayfield do well, not the other way around.

Yeah, Mayfield has had more go on to play college ball than Graves. There are quite a few scouts at the State Championship game than come to playoff games so his decision to go out to Graves doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially when you consider he has invested and learned the Mayfield system and it takes more than a year it seems to learn a new system like that.

Several players at Mayfield are being contacted by colleges at this time. Carman, Bacon, McCampbell that I have been told about. May be others.
