Welcome to BGP, fast.

In order to keep things straight, it is a good idea to have a separate thread for each game to discuss instead of lumping them together. So let's keep this one on Franklin Simpson and Greenwood.

Thanks, and I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Fast, do you think Franklin Simpson can make another run to the State Championship game this year? They seem to have a good team.

When I was at BG back in the day, FSimpson was nearly as big a rival as WCentral. I am sad this rivalry has declined over the years, but glad they seem to be doing well.

I think FS will have a descent run this year. They are very talented, but very young, and play a lot of Freshmen and Sophmores in key positions. They have one freshman starting at safety. If they continue to play together, as they have been skies the limit. This team seems to really like one another, and pull for one another to succeed. I wish the BG-FS rivalry would get to where it once was, but BG is on another level right now. That 47 game win streak speaks for itself. FS is very well coached from the head down, and will be very successful in the next four years.

I miss FS being able to hang with BG every once in a while. FS beat BG four times in the 90's--91,94 and twice in 99 including a 14-0 shutout in the playoffs, but that was FS's last win against the Purples. BG has always been really good as far as I can remember, never imagined they would be as good as they are now. I think the last competitive game between the two was when Courtney Dalcourt was FS's QB, BG won 49-34. I kind of miss the series between the two, but it's not much of a rivalry if it's one-sided. As far as the Greenwood game, I think FS should win, but this series has had a lot of ups and downs. A few years ago, Greenwood came to FS and won about 35-6, then the next year FS won at Greenwood 56-0. If FS continues to play smart, disciplined football, they will be hard to beat.

Fast, I think this chemistry piece you mention is a component that takes very good teams and pushes them to be great. I will be paying attention to you guys and pulling for you to get back to WKU these next couple years.

FS, good stuff there:up:

In the 80's (yes, I'm showing my age), FS had some great lineman and skill guys that played D-1 ball. Back then FS was one of the teams to beat and never an easy out.

I think v Greenwood this year, FS has too many horses for the Gators. It has been a feast or famine series, but bring your fork this year its your turn to feast.
