I'd say that the only reason your son's name ever came up on this thread is due to the fact he was brought up by another poster before the game in a previous thread discussing the matchup of Trinity/CCH. I won't re-hash all of that but it was basically a rundown of the Mr. Soccer status, D1 status, Trinity was technically better than CCH, etc, etc. It was basically going to be a little like a hot knife through butter.

Had his name not been brought up in the pre-game thread, it's very unlikely he'd have been brought up individually in the post-game thread. I'm quite sure that before that conversation no more than 3-4 parents on the CCH side even knew who he was and that is not intended as a slight or a shot. There are just not many followers of soccer statewide on most high school teams.

yes, that was me who brought Sam specifically into the discussion. I've seen him play both at Trinity and at the Rovers and have witness the speed at which he plays the technical skill and most importantly his soccer IQ.

From the followup reports I got I understand big Koodos go out to the CCH mids for handling not only him but also #18 Greg Fischer who is also a very talented ball player.

Looking forward to catching another CCH game before the tournament rolls around.

Why did you have to bring him up.... do not awaken him.

By the way our AD received a nice note from a JV parent about the meal we provided, we are happy the kids and parents were not only surprised but happy to have received the sack lunch. Again, great day of soccer at Trinity on Saturday.

Nice response Jason. I am a big fan of Sam's and he is definitely a major D1 player.

Sure wish I could have watched the match. There are a lot of quality kids on both Trinity and CCH. I would not be surprised to see a rematch between these teams in the state tournament.

See you in Cumberland County (now you know who I am)!

Yes I do. Thanks.

Wish you'd see more stories like this. You'd be surprised by all the little gestures teams make throughout the year. AD's reaching out to other schools AD acknowledging the class and respect that entire program gave their team after being handed a significant loss. Home teams (like in this post) sending the away team who had to travel a good distance with all the left over food from their concessions that they didn't sell. Highland's coaching staff making it a point to congratulate Snow on his game/play (posted in a previous thread).

Agree 100%!!!!!!!!

Did I see the AP soccer poll correctly that had Covington Catholic ranked 14th? It was early this morning and I may have been a bit bleary-eyed.

....but then how boring would this blog be?

We'd still have you...
