I think some coaches care. Waggener got most of the Louisville Legends two years ago and this year most of the Ky Gators 14u went to Fern Creek. They will send there kids to the schools that help them or let them use facilities. AAU caoches have strong influence on where kids go and most families liesten to them.

 

Coaches and programs are two different things. While one coach in an AAU program may act one way that doesn't mean the whole program is.

I don't. If an AAU coach gets arrested that's a reflection on him. If half the AAU coaches in a program get arrested that's a reflection of the program.

It's a reflection on the program that they didn't perform due diligence on their hire. When Gillispie gets a DUI, that reflected onto UK, at least in my mind. Coaches are representatives of their programs. I'll give kids more of a pass when it comes to those types of things because they're kids, but not adults.

David Levitch. Son Jax, Thienneman, and Spaulding. Former Trinity players Quick, Foster, Hicks, and Jason Hatcher played for the Ville. I think there is another Trinity player on their roster this year. This was the last year for the Ville since Levitch son is a Sr.The Ville is a quality run program.

I disagree. I didn't think negatively of UK when Gillespie got in trouble. I thought negatively when UK hired him because I didn't think he was a better coach than Tubby. When Rod Strickland got his DUIs I didn't think negatively of UK either.

I agree and it makes perfect sense why they had so many Trinity kids. If I was going to start an AAU team it would have at least 5 kids from Boyle County on it.

Levitch has been the Villes coach all along. Coaching his kids David and Jax from grade school up. Wiley Brown has helped coach also. He stated after Nationals this was the last year. He evidently has lots of $$ and funds the Ville. A really legit aau program but he no longer will have kids in it.

Good stuff. Appreciate the info. Am I correct in saying that Levitch only became an assistant at Trinity recently (I saw a 2012 holiday tournament program and he wasn't listed in it).

 

Is no one going to take over The Ville after either of those guys? It seems like a great program, so I'm kind of sad to see them go.
