Sports Maniac Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 This was an alright game. Hazard lead the whole game by double digits, but Wolfe would never go away until about the middle of the fourth quarter. Good win for my Bulldogs. Hicks played a great game. Hicks should be the best player in the region next year. IMO
ARC Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Gilbert had 34 to lead all scorers but Wolfe is not very strong on defense.
OnWaldenPond Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Wow .... Gilbert was a little selfish tonight with the ball. Wolfe started out poorly and never really improved. I thought this would have been a little closer, but ... IMO the score is closer than the game actually was. I'm shocked at Wolfe.
Big Game Player Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Gilbert had 34 to lead all scorers but Wolfe is not very strong on defense. This is the story of Wolfe's season. Coach Creech knows what he needs to work on for next year.
uk96 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Gilbert just never got any help in this one.... Hazard looked good and led the whole game .....It was actually a boring game.
Big Game Player Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Gilbert passed a lot more than him scoring 34 shows. He played a good game just nobody else could get a shot to consistantly go in. Stamper got looks just couldnt seem to find himself. Gilbert several times drove and drawed several defenders and kicked the ball out to an open shooter. Gotta give credit to Hazard's defense, they really slowed Gilbert's enitre game down early and didnt let anyone else have a big game to beat them.
Big Game Player Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Does anyone know where GIlbert is going to college? Some local Wolfecountians told me that Western was sending him letters and a possible tryouts were coming up soon. Someone else told me that Transy and Alice lloyd was watching him here and there. More Alice Lloyd than Transy though.

D-2 possibly, but probably not good high D-2 school. He is a good player, but is overrated IMO.
Big Game Player Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 IMO, he is not D-1 material. D-2 possibly, but probably not good high D-2 school. He is a good player, but is overrated IMO. I was just telling what I know or in this case what I heard from some reliable sources. I agree, he has potential to be able to play at a small D-2 school NCAA or even more so a D-2 NAIA, I believe the NAIA would better suit him. He has some skills but not big enough frame, shooting ability or SPEED combination to play anywhere D-1 and be successful.
Big Game Player Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 How many points did Hicks end up with? I believe he led Hazard with 18, not for sure but that # I believe is close if not right on the money.
Q man Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 How many points did Hicks end up with? Hicks had 24 and Osteen had 23. Hazard blew out to a big lead early then Hicks picked up his second foul and sat the rest of the first half. Wolve cut it to 11 at halftime and 9 early in the third before Hazard got back on track and put them away. Gilbert is a good player and would be an excellent player on a good team. He better pick up his defense if he plans to play at the next level.
