Not a lot to say about this one, Raceland led 42-0 at half and cruised the rest of the way. Raceland just had the far better football team. Raceland's coach Salmons gets his 1st W as a head coach. Coach Salmons emptied the bench in this one, was playing some kids that weren't on the program varsity roster.

I am sure that A Ram Football staff member may post the stats.

I Believe that both teams got away from this one without any injuries so that's a good thing.

 

Good Luck to East the rest of the way out. I hope their fans stick with tem. The Raiders are well coached, a class team and are just young. Better days are ahead.

Next week should be a great game. It should be a packed house. Raceland is my second favorite team in the state, so I'm excited that it worked out this way. Both teams seem to respect and understand each other, so I believe that will make the opening ceromonies even more special.

It may be epic. Sounds like Raceland hasn't skipped a beat from last season. Given that and the traditional support they bring, I would expect a close hard fought game and an atmosphere second to none on Friday.

JD, I feel the same about the Tomcats, I pull for Ashland in every week of the season, except for next week. I like to think that the two have a lot in common. There are and has been a lot of connections with the two, and in more areas than football.

On a side note I heard the wlgc radio crew commenting on the Raceland fans, they said that they were impressive in that although this one had to be completed the next night after it started that there were as many, probably more Raceland Ram fans that made the drive to Grayson again tonight. The Raceland side was full and spread over to the sidelines, Home team side. That did not surprise me at all.

Just so you know, JD, Coach Salmons was doused with the ceremonial ice water bucket and presented the game ball for win #1. Congrats to Mike Salmons and what we hope to be the beginning of many, many wins.
