13th Region 1st Round Predictions

Featured Replies

I was pretty happy with our score tonight. Yes it could have been worse, and it was, but I was proud of the second half effort from Lynn Camp, they didn't roll over and play dead, they played hard. Plus they scored 71 more than any team in the region. Yes I know they played their JV, in the 4th, but hey give us a break we needed something positive. Hopefully the next trip to the region won't come after another 40 years. Congrats to South.

Putting up 71 against SL, regardless of how long their JV played, is pretty impressive.

Bell couldn't hit the open shots they hit last week. North Laurel dared them to shoot from the perimeter and they couldn't hit anything (5 of 25 3-pointers and 16 of 55 overall).

I had North Laurel winning 35-20 on the boards, but North Laurel turned it over 19 times compared to five for Bell.

I had North outrebounding Bell 40-16 and so did North's stat keepers, too. Turning the ball over 19 times means nothing when you win and knock out the 52nd District champions.

Very true. Wins are all that count this time of the year.

I agree..turning the ball over 19 times doesnt mean anything when you win....but I would say 19 turnovers against South wont be good.

I agree, I've seen North play 4 or 5 times and that seems to be their weaknest is turnovers.

Losing Goins really hurt Bell on the inside as he was their best rebounder and the only physical player they had, plus Bell had not depth to compensate.

A good effort by Lynn Camp. I think that they actually exposed some small weaknesses in South Laurel's defense during the first quarter.

It will be interesting to see if North Laurel tries to take advantage of it.

Some keys to Corbin beating Clay Co.

1. Must do a better job of keeping Clay Co. off the offensive boards.

2. Someone has to hit some outside shots.

3. Swim needs to really come to play.

4. Get some transition baskets.

5. Swim needs to really come to play.

I agree. I still dont think Goins would have been enough to get Bell the win though. NL is very tough.

Do you think that Coach P. has been giving Ryan that same message the last couple of days?

Swim did not play as effectivly as he can the last time these two matched up and French was in foul trouble early, which led to big problems on the interior for the Hounds.

Of that, I have little doubt.
