Rio Grande is a couple miles from the high school, just off of 471 on Carothers Rd. You would take the Grand Ave exit and go north. Good Mexican food but is often crowded.

Enjoy your time...I've watched the last two bird-rock scrimmages up here and it is by far the most intense "pre-season scrimmage" I have ever witnessed.

Got Ft THomas Pizza that has awesome homemade pizza ,beer and spirits with outside seating.:thumb:

 

How quickly the Ft Thomas people forget the ole sayin..."South Side, Strong Side"

 

Of course if the food is not the main course then you can stop by The Ole Ft Pub for an adult beverage or two. Owner Bob Arnsen and family would certainly open the doors to their Louisville Irish fellow Catholics

I'm surprised no one mentioned Dixie Chili in Newport!

 

Used to love Dixie Chili and always thought Newport was the best parlor. Few months ago my wife and I stopped in and it was not up to par. Smaller portions and chili was weak, tasted watered down. I was extremely surprised. Haven't been back since.

There used to be a bar, cannot think of the name right now, located across from Ft. Thomas Armory that had the greatest hamburgers. Had a deck on the back of the building. Not sure if it exists any longer.
