Name them and I will give you there addresses. I played with everyone on the current team. And I know of one that lives in Ohio by choice. His parents are divorced and he lives with his mother who lives in Ironton. He has also been at Raceland his entire life. His sister graduated from Raceland as well at the age of 16. But if you say so, name them.

Us "Racelanders" are not talking about that particular player. Us "Racelanders" are talking about the kids in which lived on Musik's (sp?) property. Those are the kids in which we are talking about. If the kid grew up in Westwood and continued to go to Fairview even when they lived in a different district, then they are true Fairview students. But kids who attended another school and then decided their freshman, sophomore, or junior year to "move" to Fairview from another state seems a bit skeptical, considering the past. Also, another factor that plays into it, is the fact that there has also been a KHSAA officiated investigation conducted within the Fairview school district. You tell me why a person or a group of people should not be skeptical when seeing a WV licensed car at a Fairview practice.

 

Also, you still haven't named any kids in which you believe live out of state and play football for Raceland.

 

What oldrambler and I are trying to say is if the kid decides to attend Fairview and they are coming from another state, they need to file for eligibility the correct way and not try to sneak around it.

Hey Little Ram tell me just facts of allegations Fairview was investigated for ? & back it up with proof . Fairview only investigated for 1 thing , & that had nothing to do with any type of recruitment , or players from West Virginia . It had to do with one player who was from Ashland , lived in Westwood , & was orginially cleared by the KHSAA to play . Now ive spoon fed you please tell the rest of the story with FACT not rumor .

Its called acting with class , & not jumping to conclusions just to start crap . I was told this site was about being dedicated to high school sports in a very classy way . So far i see the complete opposite with the unnecessary comments some make . Its a shame some so called adults cant just talk sports without trying to make classless jabs .

Talon, I think it difficult for adults, or anyone for that matter, to just forget when they feel, and were proved, to be wronged. And, when someone has done something inappropriate it is difficult to trust them for some time. I think you are aware of the wrong doing by Fairview, and I use the entire school because I don't want to name everyone that was directly involved. You have said who should be gone from the school because of their wrong doing.

 

But, when you down play the amount of wrong doing, it is like you are just re-doing or condoning what was done. Yes, last year Fairview was investigated and punished for "one" player. But, I think we both know, as well as others, that the amount of punishment received was not just for "one" player, it was for much more that dated back, at least to the the year before. I believe the amount of punishment handed down to Fairview was, in part, for the "one" player, partly for the investigation the year before that Fairview figuratively, and literally, told the KHSAA they had no authority to sanction Fairview, and partly because the KHSAA knew Fairview was guilty of much more but did not want to expend the time and money to investigate further. So, yes, Fairview was punished for "one" player but please don't use that "one" player as a justification to say all other improprieties did not exist, that just insults those that know better.

 

It seems that you are a mature and truthful person in admitting the wrong doing and who was responsible, just don't get overzealous in defending anyone. It's still a hot topic and wounds are still open, not just at Fairview, but at other schools that felt they were on the business end of the Fairview scandals.

Agreed...those in west Ashland have had their football program under investigation for now Three Consecutive years. Not to mention some of their own were the very ones that since 2001, 02' or so were going around boasting about what was going on, even some left paper trails (e-mails)....rent free housing w/ utilities paid, transport to and from out of state, various jobs in the school district to "select parents".......etc,. etc.. As in anything, sooner or later the truth always comes out, they realize that they can't deny or spin the blame, divert attention and the guilty party's have No One to blame but themselves.

As Ram said, Ram, you, and I all know what was happening. Everyone does. It's out there and everyone knows. I may have gone a little far yesterday with my comments. My apologies. But I am speaking for a lot of the state when I say these comments. Some people are too nice to say them. I speak my mind and that's what I do. If people take them the wrong way, well, that's for them to decide.

 

As to the comment about BGP, yes, BGP is a class site that talks about high school sports. There are some nice people on here and there are some not-so-nice people on here. But we all like to talk about high school sports on here or we wouldn't be here. I know numerous people on the website and I like them all. It is a class website and I apologize if you took some of my comments the wrong way.

 

It seems to be that you are a true Fairview fan and I respect that. You know who should have been gone and who was alleged in the allegations. I respect your "Eagle Pride" you have and what Fairview means to you. What I am trying to say is, for example, the Cordia situation. They got sanctioned for a 19 year-old eighth grader or whatever is going on. So, they got punished for that action. What IF I were to take a road trip to Cordia and I walk into middle school practice and see four African American teenagers who are six foot six with beards? Should I be skeptical of the situation? Or should I just say, "eh KHSAA took care of the situation. I'm sure these kids have been at this school for awhile"? Maybe oldrambler and I are both wrong. I'm not sure. But what if you are wrong? Are you 100% positive those are the coaches cars? You just have to see it in our eyes. My apologies again.

LR, I feel the same and I, as you, Ram (and practically anyone else knows) know - I have never been accused of Not speaking my mind. i am confident that i keep it as respectable as possible but when I have absolutely 0 respect for a program (and it's only one) I will say it and why.

I absolutely know that I have never called out / degraded a h.s. kid from any program. i have and will call out the "so called" adults. After All .... Kids learn from and do what they see and are told by Adults, be they a coach, teacher, administrator, parent or whoever are their mentors. Actually in this particular case in Westwood, the only ones that I feel sorry for are the kids, especially the kids that had grown up in the community, attended school, wanted to play for their hometown team, parents paid school taxes in the system.......all only to be pushed aside for players brought in for one purpose...to feed the ego's of a few chosen adults. THAT is the Real and most serious "violation".

As for where I highlighted your "apology" comment, you have nothing imo to apologize for. You told the absolute truth and everyone knows it.
