This thread MIGHT gain some traction when the state football championships are complete, but not until then.

Guard play will be scary quick and cause some bigger opponents some real problems. Marshall Bacon coming off of being Mayfield's leading scorer last year should be in the top 3-4 players in the region and continue to dominate. Bacon has the ability to take over games. Nick Felts will add the 3 point threat once again. 3 starters (Bacon/ Kennemore/Bright) will likely once again play football until late Nov or December. Should be a great team and contend for all A classic. If this team is allowed to run and use their speed...should be a fun year of basketball in Mayfield.

Region 1 is pretty wide open this year too. All of the top teams have flaws and can be beaten. Mayfield will be in the mix. Graves will take a big step back as well as St Mary. Mayfield has real chance to win that District.
