December 1, 201411 yr Author I haven't looked to be sure, but I think the TV series has covered about 60ish issues of the comics so far. The gay character Kirkman mentioned is introduced in #67. There have been 134 comic issues release so far. So the TV show has covered about half of the comic books up to this point.

December 1, 201411 yr Author Kirkman said he may never catch up...or he may catch up and kill the entire group. I haven't read up on it, but I know at one time they wanted to make Morgan a more regular character, but the actor playing him is too involved in other projects to be a series regular.
