Notre Dame Academy vs Cov Holy Cross Girls 35th District Championship game

Featured Replies

Tonights game will tell if NDA is really ready to play with Boone County once the Regions start. Having to play CovHC at CovHC is going to be tough for NDA. If NDA comes out on top (and I think they will) and wins big, look for them to take that momentum forward and sweep the 9th Region, but if they lose this game, how will that play in the heads of the girls? Will it make them think of last year and getting beat by CovHC in the 35th District finals and then NCC in the 9th Region first round game, or will they be able to forget about another big game lost and move on?

Good luck to both teams..I'll be pulling for -----..

I think ND will win tonight by double digits. HC lost Brooke Lantry to injury and the Post said Bibbins was now injured too. They have no point guard to run the show. The region always seems to run through Boone Co. regardless of what happens tonight!

I guess you'll have to reevaluate your thoughts after Holy Cross beat ND on OT. and WITHOUT the services of Rachel Lantry in the OT since she fouled out in regulation. Down by 19 POINTS going into the 4th quarter, Holy Cross showed its true spirit by never giving up. They were outsized, outnumbered, and didn't have as much talent as ND, but somebody forgot to tell them. I think David slew Goliath tonight and Goliath had no idea what hit him. I'm sure Boone Co. feels about the same way that ND feels tonight - SHOCKED!

Congrats to Holy Cross for believing in themselves even when the game was all but decided after three quarters.:jump:

Congrats to HC.....but I hope that NDA meets up again with HC, away from HC and without Ninth Regions Refs. I think the score will be a tad different......

What a comeback! I had predicted ND would win by double digits and was right for 7/8 of the game. They led 40-21 after 3 quarters and were up 45-31 with 4 minutes left. Somehow, the Indians outscored ND 41-16 in the 4th quarter & OT. Congratulations HC & good luck to both teams next week.

Oldguy, I guess you just refuse to give Holy Cross any credit; you MUST be a ND supporter or parent of a player. How you can blame the referees or the place they played is beyond me. My goodness, if ND couldn't put Holy Cross away after being up 18 with 4 minutes to go, don't you think ND has to take some of the blame? Face it, ND just feel apart and Holy Cross came to life. Take your medicene and move on. Congrats again to Holy Cross!!!! They EARNED the win; it wasn't given to them by the refs.

I guess you'll be pulling for Ludlow . . oops, forgot that they didn't make it to the regional. I know you hated to see either of these teams make it to the regional much less pull for either one, but the fact is they're both there. I do give Ludlow credit, they had a great season and believe it or not, I would have liked to see them in the regional, but it's tough to handle the pressure of the district tournament when they haven't played those type of teams on a regular basis. Not that it was their fault either, they had to play their conference schedule, but they may have faired better playing tougher teams outside their conference. Better luck next year BIGZIG

Can' t blame the officials on this loss. 6 for 18 from the foul line in the fourth quarter isn't the officals fault.

Are you serious? You blow that big of a lead in the last 4 minutes and all you can do is blame the refs and the fact that the game was at Holy Cross?!?! WOW!!!

Wow, ND shot 18 free throws in the 4th quarter and the refs get blamed. What do you want them to do? Make the free throws for you too?

I don't hate seeing either of them there. They both deserve it and I wish them both the best of luck. Guys like you have never understood where I'm coming from on this issue and I don't feel like discussing it any further. As for the Panthers they had a great season. They all agree they don't like the way it ended and the taste it has left in their mouths but I know that at least 6-8 of the girls returning for the next 2 or 3 years were out playing 2 days after they lost. That's something that hasn't happened in Ludlow as far as girls basketball and that is what will get them over the hump. If and when they make the Regionals it will be because they deserve it.

Congrats to HC, sounds like a great comeback..

It appears your ref comments aren't holding water with the vast majority of our fellow posters..Blow a 19 point lead in the last qtr. and you are blaming the refs. I would say the blame has to fall elsewhere don't you think?

I think some congratulations need to go to Coach Kues. Lost 2 of the best players in the region (Noll and Bass) and had injuries to the younger Noll and Brook Lantry and apparently some other issues throughout the season and was able to pull it together to win the District. Might be his best coaching effort to date. Congrats and good luck..
