Votto likely headed to the DL

Speechless. What is there to say? He's not been the same since the first knee injury and most likely never will. :sour:

Just heard this on MLB, season over, sell, sell, sell. I.E. Chapman, Bailey, Phillips, even Cueto, because he won't be here after next season anyway, and his stock is SKY HIGH right now. :isurrender:

Sources: Votto did not make trip with #Reds, getting MRI on left knee. Stint on DL appears likely. Same knee that he had surgery on in 2012.

Season Over, let the trades begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :watching:

For the Reds to do anything this year they need Votto to be Votto. Right now he has 12 rbi so we won't be any worse than we are right now with someone else in his spot. If Votto can get it fixed and back in a month then maybe there will still be time to make a run as the whole league is average right now. The last time he went out, Ludwick and Frazier played out of their minds for six weeks so maybe someone will step up this time. I know the way Votto has been playing has been driving me nuts so I just the same have him out and get "right".

All you can say is $250,000,000 reason you don't sign a guy to 10 year deal. The next 10 years look very bleak for this for this Reds team. at least you got Homer locked up the next 6 years. :puke:

In a month this team without Votto will be 15 games out, season over.

Votto contract

Including this season, the Reds owe Votto at least $225M.

2014: $12M (Age 30)

2015: $14M (Age 31)

2016: $20M (Age 32)

2017: $22M (Age 33)

2018: $25M (Age 34)

2019: $25M (Age 35)

2020: $25M (Age 36)

2021 $25M (Age 37)

2022: $25M (Age 38)

2023: $25M (Age 39)

So a guy batting .257 with 12 RBI goes to the DL and the season is over? I am going to make a wild prediction and say his replacement produces more than he has. If they move Ludwick to first, I am immediately right.

Lizzie, the Votto deal was bad, is bad, and will get worse. You're making the point over and over yet we all agree, and shockingly, none of us can fix it. We agree with you.

VOR, why in God's name would they move a guy that has never played an inning professionally there to 1B???? Makes less than zero sense.

I am just pointing out that Ludwick has been more productive than Votto this year. If the Reds were losing Ludwick to the DL, would anyone be worried?

So has Frazier, who's actually played the position before....

OK, sorry it got your shorts in a bunch. I am not saying they move Ludwick to first. I am saying Votto's production is worse than Ludwick's and yet everyone is saying season over. Sorry for the horrible mis-statement about Ludwick to first.
