I just heard Doctor Phil say "The best predictor or future behavior is past behavior." We all know what happened to the last 3 coaches, what are the odds Coach Menifee will be able to thrive?

Perhaps the administration's priorities and values have changed!

 

For the sake of Campbell County Athletics lets hope. Every school has their share of "those parents" that think little Johnny or Susie is the savior of the program, and get more than a little "chippy" with whatever sports program their child in involved in if they aren't the star. The difference is at most schools the coaches have the backing of the administration if they tell the parent that the coach is doing what is the best for the team, and not, were going to make your kid and the parent happy at the expense of the team! As a public school it is very surprising that this has gone on for as long as it has. Hopefully this last coaching mess will get things in to perspective for all parties where the coaches coach, and the parents cheer.

I agree with everything you are saying. The only question (and not just for you) is did anything else change besides the coach? From my knowledge, nothing else changed. So why would there be hope that "things" will change if the people making the decisions are still the same? Not starting trouble, just a serious question. Will they change the way they think? If they are faced with the exact same situation this year, will they handle it differently than they have the past X times? My guess is that Coach Menefee will play to win and have the best on the court. What if he has the same assessment of talent as the past staff and they start this all over again. Will they start the process of pushing him out too? I hope not, but it just feels until they change more than just the coach...it's just business as usual.

You are right. Nothing else has changed. Same player will be there next season to try out and the same parent will be there to try to influence decisions with their role in the school system.

That's what worries me! I have NO skin in the game, but I hate to think that a coaching change is going to change anything. It's kinda like coaching for the Bengals. You're Mike Brown's puppet!
