Hopkinsville 83 South Oldham 62

Featured Replies

Hoptown has better athletes than Trinity, not sure it will translate into a W with Spaulding in the middle for T, but I would say Hoptown will win that game.

Better athletes does not mean better basketball players.

Nope, but experience and motivation count for something. The Tigers want to get further than last year's Final Four.

Hopkinsville was not great, but they were still impressive in many facets. Loved watching Tra Edwards do his thing.

Also liked what I saw from South Oldham. They were outmanned, but appeared prepared and well coached. Fun team to watch.

I agree....after watching the four games yesterday, this is how I would rank the winner performances.

1. Scott County - Gilbert is amazing

2. Johnson Central - great team play I thought.

3. Hopkinsville - Looked sloppy at times, but still scored 83 points

4. Trinity - Played their game, but didn't seem like much. I anticipate much higher quality of play on Friday.

City cat - I agree. Although I think Edwards for Hoptown will be the best basketball player on the court. And yes, he is a great athlete. I wasn't overly impressed with Trinity, but I look up and they're winning 10-15 the entire game, great help defense, smart, great effort. So my guess is Trinity plays to their competition sometime and this will be a good game. If I had to bet my house 1 way or the other, I'll take Hoptown.

Both teams have experience. Hoptown hasn't lost to a KY team, and T beat Ballard. My thought it T will win the hustle part of the game and they are smart, so it will take a good game by Hoptown to win

Thats fair, I think its a matter of basketball "taste". I prefer to watch a hard-nosed disciplined team execute both offensively and defensively. Sound like you prefer a little more up-n-down, one on one, and dunk game. Neither is wrong. It just baffles me to read the posts on here from what I would consider "basketball" people to say that Trinity is boring, not impressive while they just execute and continue to win ballgames.

Maybe a very remote analogy is the Heat/Spurs debate. One team is made up of athletes and highlight tapes and the other just executes their gameplan. Ballard/Hoptown being the Heat and Trinity being the Spurs?

I do prefer up and down, but as I said T is smart, they will out hustle you...that's going to be hard to beat. If you beat Ballard and made a good OHS team look average...you have something going on. It would not surprise me to see them go all the way. Lastly, OHS is VERY good defensively and T broke the press pretty well and didn't have a lot of TO's. The way to beat Hoptown is to slow it down and play great D...T can do that. We'll see who's will is forced on the other. Good luck to both teams.
