Lawnboy13 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 So much for this one being a game, Congrats to the Breds. :thumb:
gobigblue9 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Thought this would be closer. Congrats Newcath
Drunk Johnny Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 New Cath was down 17 to 13 in the second quarter then Holmes went cold and Ncc took at 26 to 19 lead. In the second half New Cath played a lot of zone and Holmes never could really mount a comeback and the Breds slowly pulled away. Congrats to the four seniors for their final regular season home game. Kiernan, Schack, Lewis, and Lankheit. Holmes has a lot of very good yound talent. They will be a force in the 9th region for the next few years.

I would agree they have a lot of nice young talent, but to be a force, they will have to find someone that can make shots from the outside consistently. Teams won't run with them, will slow the ball down and force them to make shots. And they do lose a senior that is one of those kids that can shoot it a little and has been in that lineup for 4-5 years. They will definitely be good, but there is a lot of very good young talent in the ninth region. If you look outside of ND and NCC, many teams are very young. Highlands, Ryle, Conner, Beechwood, Cooper. It should be fun in the ninth for the next couple years.
oldjams Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 So much for this one being a game, Congrats to the Breds. :thumb: Officiating was horrible with a 27 NCC to 9 Holmes free throw margin it would be pretty hard for any team to get a victory with that type of home cooking. Not taking anything away from the Breds because Nikki Kiernan can flat out play. She to me demostrated who I feel should be Miss Kentucky and I had no problem telling her mom after the game. Oh by the way Mrs. Kiernan I would have taking one of those cup cakes because they looked very tastey but I knew I could not have had just one. They have a very talented young lady who I believe is going to make a immediate impact on someones college basketball team. So as far as your comment Lawnboy13 a game should never be placed in a position to be dictated by a boat load of bad calls or over looked calls by a bias officiating crew. NCC did not and could not have controlled the refs actions but it was a flat out disservice being concidered as Khsaa certified and bluntly fixing what should have been a good game. Once again congrats to Nikki Kiernan and her parents and good luck to the Breds the rest of the season.
RCC9 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Biased officials and bluntly fixed are pretty strong accusations. Can you add any info to back that up? What was the issue? Just lopsided fouls? Why would any officials show bias or "fix" a game?

I wasn't there, but just don't go the official route. 16 points is pretty definite. The Holmes boys almost always shoot a lot more free throws because of their style of play and getting to the hoop. Lots of factors in disparity in free throws.
oldjams Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 When you draw a crew like last night on several occasions and the calls are the same you can tell believe me. Every team has officials that will no matter what who call bad fouls on them and to act as if you have not had that experience would be a surprise to me. The stats dont lie and when you get that crew you right off know what type of night its going to be. Now on the other hand if you are an official yourself then I would not expect you to agree but if it has happened in college and the pros why would you not think that it could not be possible in high school. As I said before NCC is a quality team that does not need any assistance and I comend the Breds but just as I will give credit when due I will as well give my view on what I will not take back and that is last nights crew has been bias against the lady bulldogs before and until the Khsaa does something about it they will continue to be. It is what it is !!

Never question whether or not you was a bulldog fan as I just posted every team has that crew that will not give them a fair shot not just Holmes. Like you said you was not there. I was and I did not say all officials But if the shoe fits wear it !

Jams, would have loved to been there to catch up you, but I was in Louisville watching the NewCath boys. As far as my comment, was only going off the margin of the final score. I didn't hear about the game and was unaware of any details. I just want to apologize for what you and Benny had to sit through last week. :lol2:
oldjams Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 None needed always enjoy the hospitality at NCC. But I enjoyed meeting you and good luck to both the boys and the girl Breds.
