What asst. coaches will go with Coach Maynard if any.

I don't think any will.I mean Russell hired a Raceland guy because he was a devil first.Dont know what would happen if he brought a bunch of rams with him?I think there would be a lot of evil fans that would not like that.But if you can't beat them take their coaches,ha ha

They are 2A by size but petitioned to move up to 3A due to travel distance. Under the new alignment I would say Coach Maynard chooses to stay in 2A.

 

Are they 2A in the new format?

No one went with him. The staff is intact with the exception of TJ. I am glad of this because having to hire someone this late in the game is not easy. So, to keep the rest of our staff intact is huge. I also believe that shows people that coaching at Raceland is a good thing.....it's not a second rate job.

Russell will be 3A in the new alignment (per the KHSAA released numbers). Their district is up in the air with West Carter moving to 2A and East Carter and Mason moving to 4A.

Then I stand corrected. I thought they would fall in 2A.

I heard originally that Maynard was taking one, possibly two assistants with him but Ram and Doc probably know more credible info on that. Mine came from the famous Rumor mill so :idunno:.

 

Oldrambler, I thought you respected all schools except the one from northwestern Boyd Co.?

 

Actually that is correct and that has been well documented in past (last fall) threads. This thread deals with two very respectable schools-programs in Raceland and Russell so I won't include that one located in the NorthWest section of Ashland. Hopefully that one will not come up for any discussions going in to and through the 2014 season.

As I have said before, I feel certain that coach Maynard will do a very good job with Russell and didn't want to have to be in a search / discussion for a new coach in Raceland but we are. I am looking forward to hearing/discussing some of the names of candidate's for the Raceland head coach. I have thought of some of the same names at Raceland now as asst's or in the school system.....Vanderhoof (proven winner) Salmons, Fannin, Francis, Lewis....(asst. coaches) ?? Have heard of two very strong, proven outside possible applicants and feel certain there will be more.
