Knott County Central defeated Cordia earlier in the year 79-64.

Cordia (17-6) averaging 64 PPG......Knott County Central (15-5) averaging 67 PPG

MP: Knott County Central 63-52

Thoughts?

Would love to be there to see this one. I would say it will be much closer than the last meeting.

Does KCC have the bodies to match up with the additional size of Cordia?

I believe the only real size the Patroits have is their 6'6 junior center, Evan Hall. But he is a good one with plenty of experience.

Christon played big at times last year as well. He's thick and athletic, but definitely not really tall.

I believe Knott County Central will win by 6. Rhodes has a lot of talent but I'm not completely sold on his game management and strategy. He's made a few head scratching decisions in some of the games I've seen his team play.

I wasn't at the state All A but it appears his decision to try to continually press NCC, a team that has solid, experienced guards, didn't work. From what I hear he stayed in the press to much and it cost him, NCC shreaded it and made easy baskets. I think Cordia had the talent to win the All A championship, to beat NCC, but against a team like that you have to have a smart well thought out game plan.

They'll be going up against a well coached and well prepared Patroit team that has had their number every time they've played since Rhodes has been at Cordia. This game will be no different.

When Cordia pressed NCC in the Republic Bank, especially in the 2nd half, I personally thought it rattled them some and wore into their depth. I'm pretty sure it was Frimpong (#30) who just got down in a stance, bodied the NCC guards, and played bully ball (at least until he got in foul trouble) and it really wore on NCC the first go-round.

For much of the second half, they were left with Cunningham on McDonald when they let NCC just walk it down and set things up (whether by design or off switches, especially since Weyer, who is in the 6'5-6'6 range himself, was hurting Cordia too), so I can understand why they'd want to try and pressure them.
