February 3, 201412 yr Well, I could go on and on rebutting your comments, but it's likely not to get anywhere. I'd like to introduce you to the family of a girl who was killed by a texting driver who missed a curve. Or, to the parent of another girl who was the texting driver who hit a tree head on. Which is a great reason why texting while driving is illegal in many states now. Texting last I checked isn't mind altering and can affect your motor skills. The driving thing is only an example of something that happened directly related to drug use. A person does not have to be driving to hurt someone else while under the influence of drugs. As I said before, 2 wrongs does not make a right.
February 3, 201412 yr Found this link to back up your point RM.... Texting and Driving Statistics.... Things that really stood out to me: - Texting is 6 times more likely to cause an accident than driving intoxicated.... - 1 of every 4 accidents is caused by someone texting...
February 3, 201412 yr Wow. Ok, so now lipstick, iPhones etc are all Hallucinogens Ok, let's really get ignorant on the subject. This is the main reason I try and stay out of this very subject when it comes to debating it. It's because of the mental midget comments that come with it. Be upset at me, I don't care. It's a very close subject to me and idiotic and moronic statements that some always throw into the ring on this subject only show me 2 things....that those same people have taken too much drugs and their brain cells are so fried they can't think straight or they truly are stupid. Now to be sure here folks, I am not calling anyone in particular stupid, don't want to break the rules here etc. I will just say, if the shoe fits blah blah blah. Freakin cell phones. Omg. Well I'm not guilty of frying my brain so I guess that I fall into the stupid category. But allow me to suggest that perhaps there is a third category of people who realize that these are accidents are casued by a lack of personal responsibility and are not the fault of a particular drug per se. And while you claim your mental midget comments are not directed at anyone in particular, you quoted me, so you'll have to excuse me if I feel otherwise.

Texting and driving IS driving impaired!
February 3, 201412 yr Food for thought Alcohol is legal in the USA, however, laws have been created that make it illegal to drive while using alcohol. Texting is leagl in the USA, however, laws have been created that make it illegal to drive while texting. Therefore, Alcohol = iPhone Doesnt' really seem like my example is such a stretch. The bottom line is accidents caused by both alcohol and texting could be eliminated if the responsible party made a sound decision not to mix those activities with driving.

Well anyone that doesn't think a hallucinogen doesn't affect ones mind and/or motor skills then that alone is all the proof I need to prove my point.
February 3, 201412 yr Well anyone that doesn't think a hallucinogen doesn't affect ones mind and/or motor skills then that alone is all the proof I need to prove my point. Exactly when did I say that?
February 3, 201412 yr Well anyone that doesn't think a hallucinogen doesn't affect ones mind and/or motor skills then that alone is all the proof I need to prove my point. Not one person has even implied that. YOU have assigned that implication to everyone who disagreed with you. But no one said that. All they did was point out that it is the lack of personal responsibility that led to the accident you mentioned.

So what is your excuse when someone is high as a kite and decides its ok to play cops and robbers with their parents gun and accidentally shoots their 3 year old sister because they weren't thinking straight due to being high? I didn't know. Cell phone can make one lose all aspects of reality.

February 3, 201412 yr I'm not an idiot, I know the differences. My point is many think pot is fine and harmless and don't seem to think about how drugs such as that often times lead to more dangerous drugs etc. With your point of thinking there is nothing wrong is one of the main problems with this society today. You don't think there is anything wrong with heroin? do you know why heroin is so rampant in this area and across the country today? Because it is cheap, it is very affordable and is widely used because of that and the high you get from it. To think it's ok to smoke pot but not ok to do heroin makes no sense to me. Marijuana, by itself, does not kill you. In order to overdose on marijuana, researchers have reported that you'd have to consume more than 1,000 times the average amount it takes to get high, or approximately 1/3 of your body weight. Is it impossible? I guess not, but it's damn close. To my knowledge there are ZERO reported deaths due to overdosing on marijuana. Does that mean that it's safe to smoke & drive? Of course not. There are many things that should not be done under the influence of drugs, legal or otherwise. Alcohol, oxycodone, and marijuana are all substances that have very legitimate uses but can be abused. Heroin, on the other hand, does not have any legitimate use (that I'm aware of). To me, marijuana and its users would be better regulated if legalized. It would significantly reduce the black market, relieve some stress on the court system & jails, and significantly increase tax revenue...while not raising taxes on those who choose not to partake. What bothers me, though, is the misinformation that surrounds marijuana. From an early age, I was taught that drugs were bad. Mostly that included alcohol (unless you were of legal age) and marijuana. As I grew older, I started to learn about other drugs and substances which, of course, I was told were just as bad. Nonetheless, I had plenty of friends that drank alcohol and/or smoked marijuana without the adverse effects that we were warned about. In college, I succumbed to the peer pressure & tried both as well. I did not flunk out of school, I did not destroy my personal relationships, and I did not start stealing from my friends. It makes you wonder if you are being lied to about ALL drugs, or just a few. The bottom line is that not every drug is created equal. It's time to stop treating them as if they're all equal. I'm not promoting the use of alcohol, marijuana or any drug, but I fully support educating adults & youth alike on the benefits, pitfalls & issues surrounding each so that they can each make their own informed decisions as an adult.
February 3, 201412 yr I blame it on the gun. Because it is the gun that decided to fire itself. Brillant.
February 3, 201412 yr And that is 100% correct. It Was lack of responsibility that led to the accident. You're quite an illogical debatee. :lol2:
