Are the roads that bad. I haven't been home this week, so I would have thought they would the main roads would be clean, especially TM hill.

 

EVERY major road is clear in the area. This makes no sense.

School parking lots are a mess thats for sure. They wont have school Friday either if they dont get them cleaned up.

 

They have had 4 days to clean this up, what's the deal????? There has got to be one or two parents with kids at that school that could donate some time and clear the lots......or at least I think they would.

As far as I know (could be wrong if things have changed) County does not have staff dedicated to clean school parking lots. Sidewalks are done by school staff, but parking lots are not. Most of the time if mother nature doesnt clean them off, they dont get done.

Maybe the transportation people at Kenton County Schools are afraid of going down and then up Taylor Mill Hill. That's a legit concern. Then again, they could just go down a mile on 275 and take the 3L Highway exit. The latter option seems highly do-able.

 

That hill is home to Fidelity Investments which is a facility that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and has thousands of Employees on it's grounds every day. Not to mention the thousands of commuters in Latonia that get on @275 to commute to work. It's also within a few miles of the salt piles off of 17, that hill is one of the top priorities in Northern Kenton County in regards to treatment during snowy weather.

Went by TurkeyFoot school and who ever tried to do parking lot or is responsible to clear lot should be fired . With any amount of salt would of cleared that yesterday with the sun out. Should of been cleared by now. Sounds like a inside job!

Like I said in another thread, Kenton Co. worries more about being sued than making reasonable decisions about weather issues. It is embarrassing to Kenton Co. when many other districts/privates schools make case by case decisions instead of a blanket decision for everything.

Some districts contract this out, but I would think Kenton Co has the equipment to clean the lots. They would not let volunteers clean them due to litigation concerns. Just the society we live in on the latter. No matter how we think, it won't change.

BOE wouldnt let them for liability reasons even if they could. Parents cant even cut the grass on our football field for games anymore.

Has to be the same JO's that cleared my street and pushed all snow in front of my drive way. Can't even pull in my drive way because the snow is butt hole deep to a giraffe. Whewwwww, I feel better now.

LB, don't even try to figure it out cause I've been dealing with it for years. When they were wanting to move our softball fences in for fast pitch a bunch of the dads said we'd come up and do it in one weekend. (Cooler of beer/post hole diggers). They wouldn't allow us to for what ever reason. They paid a contractor to do it. Blew my mind. If parents are willing to help and put in the work let them do it and save a buck. Use the money saved on the kids to better their education. :idunno:
