Dixie Heights 78 Lewis County 75 (2 OT)

Featured Replies

What is your opinion on Hatton being pushed with two hands after play was stopped? That's a T in any region. Dixie beat Lewis county on their home floor. If this game was played in the 9th blow out city.

Each person see things differently. You may see a push while BBFAN10 sees incidental contact. Without video so multiple people can comment, it will just be a mindless debate between opposing sides.

I have access to team video.

I know my kid and anyone else who knows him knows that he is not one to exaggerate something like this. He has played in a lot of games and never complains... and he did not complain about this game... he smiled the whole time and kept shaking his head saying how "weird" it was. He said he has never been a part of a game like that before. And according to him those refs were absolutely the worst he has ever had.

Game at LC, I guess (?). Watched SK play Rowan there and was told they best officials in the region worked that game. It was awful. Some of the worst I'd ever seen. And then....stayed to watch Scott play. Those guys were way worse. Reminded me of middle school refs in NKY. Somebody should take their whistles and send them back to the Wednesday night church league.

I was at the game also, it got a little intense at times. The only play I agree that should have been a foul called was on the loose ball and the Lewis player jumped on top. If you thought this was a badly called game, you need to stay in the 9th region. There was certainly some calls that could have been made, both ways. What has failed to come out is that a Lewis player was t'd up early in the game and the coach never put him back in. As for the players both arms getting pulled down, no way, could there have been a foul called, possibly. This game in no way was completely one sided!! It was a game where Dixie thought they had a cake walk and ran into a Lewis team that played harder. For the video being sent to the KHSAA, your coach would have that option, I doubt he thinks it warrants that though!!

You'll learn soon that the only competent officials in the state are in the 9th region. You'll see. Complaining about other region's refs is something these guys are pros at.

I will check with the coaches to see if I can get a look at the video as well.

As for your son's comments (not sure which player is your son), I have heard the "weird" comments from a few DH team members. One may be your son, I do not know.

I'm glad I was not there. He said I would have been on the floor and then in jail for the night.

That is believable.

I was told it was hands to the chest, full on push. The coaches for Dixie told the kid doing video to start capturing everything... usually he stops at dead balls... but because things were so out of control he was told to capture it all. I hope Dixie does try to get those officials removed. That is a dangerous scenario for kids to have to play in.

And I guess the cursing, threatening fans from "good ol' boy" Lewis County were not doing what they were doing... Dixie fans just made that up out of the blue.

That is believable.

You better believe it. Randy Savage has nothing on me.

At least you picked an awesome wrestler.

I don't think the cops were called in. Rember there isn't much to due in Lewis Co. I think they were just killing time. The Lewis fans were fine very nice people. It just seemed that thrthe ref's wanted a closer game. I LOVE PHYSICAL PLAY but this game was out of control. That's the ref's fault. When a player is dove on at half court, or pushed with two arms extended after play has stopped and no call.....

Im sick of these comments. There are officials who are bad, just not good sigh calls... getting them right, or not... maybe the game is too fast for them... maybe they do not fully know or understand the rules... but this game became dangerous for the Dixie players and that is unacceptable.

That's unfortunate. It happens.

I'm sick of 9th region fans always complaining about the refs. I'm 100% sure a majority of 9th region fans will complain about the refs when they play away at an out of region opponent. That's what you guys do.:cry:

Trust me, Starks. 9th region fans do not hold back on 9th region officials.

No this was more than bad ref's. This is safety of players

It's up to the ref to set the tone of the game. If they don't call dead ball fouls and diving on top of players then the game get out of control.
