PaNDA....thanks a ton for the pics. They are great!

And yes, both teams shot the rock very well and it made it all the more fun to watch. Great team effort by the Bearcats and congratulations to them on the win.

It was one of those games where i found myself watching as opposed to snapping!

Article from cincinnati.com but no box score yet....

Walton-Verona’s girls’ basketball team made 15 3-pointers and had three players score in double-digits in an 88-77 overtime win against South Oldham on Saturday.

Walton-Verona sophomore forward Hailey Ison finished with a game-high 27 points, while sophomore guard Morgan Simpson had a career-high in points with 22.

Junior guard Allie Mills finished with 16.

Congrats to Coach Clink and the Bearcats. Congrats to Morgan Simpson on a careet high and Haleigh Ison on another solid performance.

I heard from some reliable and level-headed South fans that there was a controversial "non-recognition" by the officials of an attempted timeout call by the South bench with the score tied and the ball in their possession with several seconds remaining in regulation. I do believe that this is not the first time that there has been a controversial end to a game at WV involving the Lady Dragons. Can we get a confirmation or rebuttal of this?

Yes.

I believe that blame goes on all coaches in general. I'm sure for officials it is really hard to figure out if a coach is calling for a "Time out" or to run the play "Five out" or "Side out" or any other combination they come up with. I'm betting the referees tend to be slow to whistle a timeout for that reason, causing missed timeouts when by the time they realize that yes it is a timeout, the ball is loose or going the other way

With about seven seconds left she was on the court yelling at Camacho but she kept saying "Time! Time! Time" She never said "Timeout" or motioned with her hands. He probably should have noticed and granted the TO but she could have been a little more demonstrative or animated in calling it. If I am her I am screaming "TIMEOUT" at the top of my lungs and jumping with my hands forming a T. IT should have been her ball under her own basket with seven second left and the score tied.

The South coach was screaming " TimeOut" and players on the floor were as well- directly at the above mentioned official who claimed that "he did not hear her" less than 3 ft away. She is not a quiet coach by any means, so it is highly unlikely especially when we could hear her and we were further away. He heard what he wanted to hear imo and a few minutes later, "T'd" her up when she was sitting in her chair, discussing to one of her assistants- not cursing ,complaining, or trying to show him up. Simply poor officiating and extremely disappointing that the South team was not given the opportunity that they had earned.

I know the official you speak of..........none of this surprises me.

In that situation officials need to be aware that a TO request is a possibility and needs to be ready for the request.
