Hopkinsville 77 Dunbar 65

Surprised by this one. I'm guessing Darius Williams got his and then some, but still.

Who knows though, maybe the 11th is just much stronger than we've thought.

I've been on the Lafayette bandwagon, Lexington Catholic has been golden outside of the first two weeks and Scott County is Scott County.

I'd to know more details about this game. Boyle County and Lincoln County both beat Dunbar by 20+ points.

Maybe. They could have been up 30 and put the JV and freshmen in also. Need more info.

Agreed. No box score available in this one yet.

Darius Williams of Dunbar is only a sophomore and is supposed to be the real deal. I'm interested to see just how well he did in this one.

Hopkinsville started the game up 19-8 causing numerous Dunbar turnovers and jumping out to the lead. Midway through the 2nd quarter Dunbar cut the lead to 2 30-28. Hopkinsville went on a 17-2 run to extend the lead to 47-30 before Dunbar ended the first half on a 7-0 run to end the half down 47-37. Darius Williams had 17 at the half.

The entire second half was played in the 8-14 point range. Dunbar played hard and never quit but the Tigers were just to much for the Bulldogs at the end of the day. Williams finished with 28 for Dunbar and Matlock finished with 24 for the Tigers.

Hopkinsville is a great team and very well coached. They get after you full court press the entire game. The only weakness I saw is in the half court they tend to foul a lot on the drive. Dunbar shot more free throws then Hoptown which helped them stay in the game in the first half. Overall though Hopkinsville deserves the hype they get.

As for Dunbar they start a freshmen, two sophomores, a junior, and one senior. They are very young and still finding their identity. Darius Williams is one of the best sophomores in the state without a doubt. Overall very entertaining game to watch and wish both teams luck the rest of the year.
