Cooper 60 Conner 58

33rd district battle.

Conner was down 18-4 after 1 and 36-20 at the half.

Heard one or both of the McNeil boys played well for Cooper.

Good road win for Cooper to open up 33rd district play.

Sean McNeil the freshman had a huge 1st half. I believe 16 of the first 18 points were all Sean McNeil. I think it was a good coming out party for the Young Freshman.

Also A Morgan was big down the stretch hitting 5 of 6 free throws in the last minute.

Now the real excitement was the JV game before the Varsity game. Triple OT. Cooper down by 3 at the end of the first OT and Patrick Dragon banks in a 3 from half court to tie it at the buzzer. 2nd OT again cooper down 3 and Dragon hits another 3 at the buzzer to tie it. 3rd OT cooper wins it.

I look forward to checking Sean McNeil out soon. His grandma must be ecstatic seeing another grandson on the court.

The kid can flat out play. One of the best looking frosh players I've seen in a long time. Sweet stroke, great poise and great bb iq.

Conner showed alot of grit to get back in this one. Hemmerich has developed a really nice step back move that gives nice separation. He got hot and they had Cooper on the ropes. Conner down two and had to miss ft on purpose. Got the rebound and a great look, but could not convert the chippy. Conner just needs to start better. They play hard.

I heard the kid that missed on purpose was probably in the lane early but it wasn't called.

Sean can play. Kid is fearless for only being a frosh. Good size. Handles the ball well. Nice looking shot. Will be a problem for teams over the next 4 years.

I don't know if he was in the lane early or not, I didn't pay attention to that, but what did happen was he missed the rim and the officials let it go as if he did hit the rim and the ball was live. Either way it was a great comeback by Conner. Cooper seemed to play as if they were just going through the motions the second half. No intensity like the first half.

The most impressive stat from the game is that Cooper won while Zach McNeil and Spencer Holland combined for only 6 points. Everyone else seemed to step up and contribute. Sean McNeil impresses me more every time I see him play. Colin Hathorn also had an outstanding game.

Good win for Cooper, congrats.

I saw in the paper that Cooper has won the last six games against Conner to even the series at 7 games a piece.

Great job by Morgan hitting the FT at the end. Exactly what you want from your senior PG.

I talked to someone who watched film of the free throw. 1. He said he had to slow it down to see if the lane violation occurred. Said it was very close. 2. Said the ball definitely hit the rim. It hit the phlange.

Losing Barker probably hurt Conner in the paint more than anything. Hemmerich seems to have picked up where he left off last year.

Congrats to Coach Sullivan and the Jaguars. They have a nice program out there and really get after it.

Coach Sullivan is an awesome/intense coach.
