I felt that and I'm honestly happy that I was proven wrong. Collins deserves all the credit it can get; no doubt they are deserving of it. Anyone who didn't believe it was in a very small minority.

By no means am I denying that there weren't people who made the claim that "the HHS vs CCH game was without question the defacto 4A State Championship", but I can certainly tell you, I was not among those who felt that way.

 

Having played in a state championship game myself in 1997, and having been to every state championship game that Cov Cath has played, I can tell you without a doubt that I have never felt as if the state championship was determined, figuratively or literally, anywhere other than on the field in the actual state championship game. Furthermore, I can tell you that the Colonel teams, especially, never felt that way either.

Glad I talked to that witch doctor. She put a nasty spell on Highlands!
