December 25, 201312 yr St. James Catholic Church in Louisville comes out swinging... Hit me with my favorite advent hymn right away in week one with "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" at the 11:00 am mass yesterday. So I go to Mass last week and the opening song was "Emmanuel"....... not "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" just "Emmanuel"......some kind of cover/sampled song that had parts of the original song in it. Can they do that? Do they have to pay royalties to the original songwriter (or song owner)? I mean where is Vanilla Ice to explain this all to me?
December 25, 201312 yr Author Just got back from Christmas Eve service. Here was the meditation for the Advent wreath: Good news! Good news! Our hopes and fears and all of years have met in this place tonight, and we have beheld the glory of the coming of God's Messiah. Sing for joy! Salvation has come! Light the Christ candle We light the candle as a sign to the world that today in the city of David, a Savior is born, who is Christ The Lord. We no longer have to fear the darkness for our Light has come. Glory to God in the highest heaven! And on earth, peace to all of God's children! Blessed is he who comes in the name of The Lord. Amen
