Both teams open the season Tuesday night in Alexandria. The two squads seem to be similar, in that they both will rely heavily on front court play. Can the Cru pull off an opening season road victory, or will the 'Stangs size be too much?

Some great players for St. Henry. Several played with the BB players on an AAU team this summer. This should be a close game.

Rieger and Trentman played with Plummer and Rechtin for about 4 or 5 years during grade school for the NKY Rockets coached by Dave Lewin. More recently Noble and Rechtin along with the 5 Brossart seniors played for Crons and than for the NKY Jazz (coached by Brossart varsity assistant Kevin Bundy) . The kids have a lot of respect for each other, know each others strengths and weaknesses. It should be a great game as the matchups look on paper to be even. My prediction will be a close game with a boat load of parents meeting on center court after the game to say hello.

Starters match up pretty decent. Who stays out of foul trouble will be key. If preseason/scrimmage games are an indication, then I expect a lot of foul shots and some of the bench players stepping up and playing a lot of minutes. Crusaders need to open the season with a win for a change and set the tone for their year. Brossart has their number over the last few years (last St.H win in 07-08). I'll go with the Crusaders with the early season win 56-53.
