Hats off to my Panthers they had a good run this season. Not many thought throughout the year they were good enough to be there. But they guys continued to buy into what the coaches wanted.

 

Frankfort’s issues last night had nothing to do with defense. Panthers played great on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively the lack of the ability to run the football and get first downs put the defense in bad positions all night last night. There are no adjustments that needed to be made on defense. Panthers pressured the QB and did some good things.

 

Offensively came down to Mayfield D-line shut the run down. Frankfort’s Acree was injured last night during the second series. So the non-factor was due to an injury. Few times the Panthers started to seem like they moving football penalty would hurt.

 

Throughout the night a few injuries occurred and the lack of depth started to play a role for a team that plays only about 19 kids.

 

Folks are right Frankfort has some athletes and yes there is something missing. What’s missing is more bodies. The Panthers have to increase their numbers. Numbers do a lot of things, allows you to build depth and also gives you competition in practice.

 

Good news is the sun has risen and the Panthers have a lot to be proud of. What is even more exciting is 95% of the team’s roster will return next season.

I would say you are right on target. Mayfield wore them down. Frankfort , defensively pressured Guyh most of the night. Frankfort in the 1st half looked like they blitzing from the outside on both sides and Mayfield was having a hard time with it. Depth can be an issue in 1A. Your have said this before but I see 7 seniors on a 30 man roster listed on KHSAA. Are you talking starters?
