In the case of a 4-5 hour drive there has to be an advantage for the home team. I am not saying its a huge advantage because I don't blame the travel as a reason the team I support didnt play well.

You could have a pool of hosting schools across the state, then on Saturday morning after the regional's the semi states could be assigned based on geography of the two participating schools. Of course no school in that system could host their own class.

 

Maybe just me, but I could see that one getting crooked with towns/schools wishing to host a big semifinal game.
