dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 What do you think? All for show, or something going on? Say what you will, but there has been a heavy dose of occultic symbolism pumped into mainstream music these days. Acts like Gaga, Ke$ha, Kanye, etc. It's getting real prevelant in hip hop, to the point a lot of artists have came out against it. It is definitely a fad right now and I'm not sure its a good thing. Thoughts?
dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 If you know what to look for it's shocking (and this is just one of many examples)..... [video=youtube_share;L53gjP-TtGE]
dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Also concerning Kanye, his most recent album is entitled Yeezus. IMO it is a blatant mock of Jesus Christ. Kanye has said in the past if the Bible was written today that he would be one of the characters in the bible, and all kinds of other ego fueled things. He constantly wears crosses or crucifixes while at the same time mocking Jesus/God (most occultists or satanists wear these things to mock). He acts as if he is a god or tries to be one or portrayed as one.
Jim Schue Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Ho hum. Wonder what Ozzy thinks about 'em stealing his act?
dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Ho hum. Wonder what Ozzy thinks about 'em stealing his act? It has been around for a while with acts like the Beatles, Zep, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, and all of that stuff, but it seems like its everywhere now. Back then it was more isolated it seems, now its as if its the entire music industry, especially the pop/mainstream scene. It's like it hadn't made it to the mainstream until 15-20 years ago, now its just waaaayyy in your face.

Pop music is just now allowing itself to do the things that were so edgy 15-20 years ago that they were confined to the fringes of counter-cultural music. But artists need to be somewhat edgy -- it's what makes them appealing to kids -- and pop music had sexualized itself to the limit in recent years so they needed something else; any more sexuality in pop music and they could only put it on Cinemax after 11 pm. This kind of stuff has now been around long enough that it's not all that edgy. And also, Ke$ha's a strange bird. Truth be told, it's not the imagery that bothers me about Ke$ha; it's kids that don't seem to mind that she's just not very good at music.

Truth be told, it's not the imagery that bothers me about Ke$ha; it's kids that don't seem to mind that she's just not very good at music. That's the main thing right there. I'm of the opinion most of these uber famous pop stars are pretty much just a bunch of no talent hacks but somehow the powers to be turn them into music icons. I also agree about the shock factor, that has always been my take with groups ranging from the Doors, Sabbath, KISS, Alice Cooper, Slayer, etc. to groups of the 90's. However, I think there is a good chance that some of this stuff is going beyond just shock value. To me it seems everything is getting very dark and that some of these acts may in fact have aligned themselves with the dark side. Sounds crazy I know! But don't get me wrong, there are a lot of posers out there just capitalizing on a growing fad, but the more I research, read/see/hear the more I start to question how many may actually be for real? It's kind of like throwing up gang signs, a white kid from the suburbs can learn gang signs and throw them all they want, but for the most part you don't throw it unless you down. You get caught throwing a sign and you're not affiliated there's usually consequences. To the same effect with all of this stuff, if you're not really about it then why throw the signs? I'm honestly starting to believe there is a faction out there trying to corrupt the youth and society through subliminal messages and imagery.
dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Here is a clip with a discussion from a satanic high priest (the son in law of Anton LeVey (founder of the church of satan/wrote satanic bible)) basically talking about the same thing. Talking about their plans of takeover and their use of media and imagery to corrupt. Don't think he would just be making it up, sounds like an agenda to me. Also when I say satanist, satanic, church of satan, etc., most people will get that confused. Most people hear that and think oh they worship satan like Christians worship Jesus/God. That's not the case, most satanists don't really worship satan they worship the flesh, they feel they are their own gods and that everybody should rule over themselves. An idea of living in excess and ecstacy and fulfilling your wants not the wants of a higher power. Very interesting though if you take the two or three minutes to listen, its clear you're starting to see a lot of this going on right now, most people just don't know it.
dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Also the corruption of young stars seems to be at an all time high. Look no further than the Biebs and Mileys of the world. Look at them just a year or two ago and look at them now.

That particular philosophy is pretty much what contemporary culture is all about.

dolamite Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Child stars going stupid like those two is by no means a new phenomenon. That has always been an issue. But why? And yes I agree, has been happening for a while. Danny Bonaduche (sp?), Gary Coleman, Mary Kate & Ashley, Brittney Spears, JT, Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan etc. I mean it's almost the norm, but why does it happen?

Not sure you can call what Miley's doing in her last couple music videos/big time performances (VMA's etc.) just the spoils of rockstardom. She's changing her image quick. Look at a picture or performance of her from just over a year ago and go back and look at one now, night and day. Not sure what extreme perversion has to do with spoils of being young and rich.
