Voice of Reason Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I think round one provided more clarity on the rankings of N. Ky. teams and how they truly stack up against each other. Here is how I see N. Ky.: 1. Highlands 2. Simon Kenton 3. Covington Catholic 4. Campbell County 5. Dixie Heights 6. Conner 7. Newport Central Catholic 8. Beechwood 9. Scott 10. Cooper I think that is a pretty solid ranking of the N. Ky. teams for 2013. Any disagreements?
RomanEmpire Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Conner defeated Campbell Co and should be ahead of them. This is your own logic you use every week when Conner is ranked ahead of S. Oldham and you complain. Be consistent in your rationale.

But it isn't a slam dunk that you get ranked above a team you beat. If Cooper had beaten Conner, and everything else remained the same on their records, I would not rank Cooper above Conner. A one point win by Conner over Campbell County doesn't automatically mean they must be ranked above Campbell County. That is a very close game and makes me look closer at their whole records. When I do that, I think Campbell County is better.

But no biggie. It's how you see it, I attended both games and that's where my opinion comes from. Visual evidence.
AllenR Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Shocked... Must be too early for one particular poster to respond to this one...

Your view is better than mine and you very well may be right. I see 4-6 on my list being very close calls. Conner's scores the last two weeks seem to show them slipping a little and Campbell Co. and Dixie both seem to be peaking. That is why I put them in that order. I wouldn't be too upset at any one who changed the order of those three around. I see my top 3 as solidly the top 3. I see 4-6 solidly in that range. And I see 7-9 solidly locked there with Cooper at 10 being capable of upsetting those just above them.
Hellbird Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It's a pretty fair ranking. It's a tough year to rank them if you ask me. I think Dixie should be above Campbell going on how they are playing now. Dixie and SK were the only teams that handidly beat Cooper, the other teams on the list outside SK, Dixie, Highlands and CCH I think you can flip a coin on who will win. After those 4 teams I don't think the rest have been as even as they are this year. good list.
