Cooper is a perfect example of a W/L record not giving a clear picture of the team.

I think earlier in the season I described this team as being snake bitten due to all the games lost in the last minute or two.

Tonights game summed up their season to a tee. Cooper dominated the game. 14 of AC's first 21 points were due to pick 6 and an illegal pick (I was told it was an illegal pick, I didn't see it myself so take it with a grain of salt but it left the CB on thee ground 20 yards behind the receiver) which resulted in a wr being left wide open for a TD. Cooper was up 21 at one point I believe in the first half. When Cooper was up by several scores the play started getting chippy to say the least. Several personal foul calls then set up Ludwig being taken to the Hosp and out for the remainder of the game late in the 2nd qtr. JV QB comes in, and it's not his fault, it was just too big for him I think. HE played the best he could under such circumstances. Ends up turning the ball over 4 more times including a pick 6. Coopers defense played great the 2nd half of the game but after 6 TO's and the maajority of AC's points coming off of the misques there was nothing Cooper could do. Went from up by 14 to down by 10. Fussinger moved to QB with under 2 mins left and they moved the ball a bit but was a little too late.

 

I wanted to say how proud I am of the Coaching staff for never letting the boys get down when everytthing was collapsing in front of them. they never gave up. I wanted to also say how proud I am of all the seniors tonight. It was incredible to watch you all out there, many of you played the besst games I've ever seen you play!!! Ryan Richardson played great, Keller, Pauls, Kissel, Brickings etc all played yuor heats out. #12, I can never relay to you how proud I am of all you've done. You played great tonight also. It was fitting your last reception in High School was for your longest TD of the year and after playing QB all through pee wee that you were moved to QB on the last drive of the game and completed the last pass of the season for Cooper. Will Lidwig...you were a beast tonight!!! Get well soon buddy, it's your 18th B-day in a couple days and today is Corey Fussinger's 18th, so prooud of you two. And Last but deffinatley not least, Aaron Morgan, you are a baller my friend. You,, #12 and #4 have played together and against eachother for 12 years. It's been a pleasure watcching you grow and the 3 of you all giving us thrills each and every Friday night. Best of luck to aall the Seniors and again thanks to all the coaches for a very memorable 4 years. We will miss you all!!!

Anderson will not get past Conner based on what I have seen of both teams.

If Conner airs it out it may be a running clock before halftime I think. Anderson had no answer for Cooper's passing attack. Cooper I don't think punted the ball the entire game until Ludwig was taken out right before half.

 

AC has a player in #1, as long as Conner can cover him they should be able to play for regional championship.

Cooper dominated the entire game which is really odd to say after losing by 10, but even when Ludwigg was out Cooper's D stepped up and AC could only capitalize on a couple misques. I was reallly worried going into tonights game, nothing against Anderson Co. but they weren't who I was expecting.

I don't know if it was or not. couldn't get a good look. It happened across the field from us and was iin a big pile of players. The play itself he was rolling out trying to find a receiver when he got hit and tthere were too many around him to even see what happened. Next thing we knew is his helmet got knocked off or ripped off, don't know, but the helmet was off and he ended up having to get around 15 stitches at the hospital inside and outside his lower lip, closer to his chin. Wa about half way down between his lip and chin. Tore all the way through. As far as the personal fouls, I don't know like I said because we didn't have a good view but it was in the same time that the flags were flying. Sad thing is, same thing happened last year after Cooper got a big lead, then some very unnecessary pplay by some AC players occured. People in the stands were talking about it felt like deja vue from last years game.

 

So I can't say what happened on the play itself due to not having a good view of it, it occured by AC's sidelines.

Tough way to end the season. Congrats to this Cooper senior class on setting the foundation for years to come.

Thank you my friend. It was bitter sweet the way the season ended. All the seniors played so well. Whenever there was a big play in the game last night it always seemed to be one of the seniors. As if they knew it was their last game and wanted to leave everything on the field. This class may not have been like last years senior class, but many of this years seniors were a huge part of last years teams success yet never seemed to get the credit. The seniors the last 2 years hopefully helped build something future classes can strive for.

I think I stated in the prediction thread that Cooper would have to put this away early and had Ludwig not gone down, the Jags would have done just that.

 

The JV QB - who was solid at 8-2 this season - was just overwhelmed with the pressure last night. Had his very first pass not been tipped right into the defender's hands, he may have been OK. Just needed to control the clock because like Hellbird said, the Jag D was solid. Out there too long, but still solid.

 

The Senior boys were great last night....After the initial let down, most were hugging, smiling through tears, posing for pictures with their parents and teammates. Proud of them and just a little sad that they didn't get to take the ride again this year (because as a parent, the road trips last year were a blast!!)

Clean hit on Ludwig. Just a freak injury where his helmet hit the ground. He would have loved to have gotten stitched up and back in the game but when you can put your tongue through a hole in your lower lip not much you can do. Doctors at UK were great. Even though I did not see the last half glad too see the boys fought until the end. This is a class team. Even though they finished 3-8 this is not a bad team and things will continue to improve in the next couple of years.

Just the perfect storm against the Jags all season. Having been largely injury free for the past 3 seasons, we were without Sand, Parks, Frolly, and Cordell-Armstrong for the play-offs. Then for Ludwig to go down in the first half.....UGH! Had it been mid-third, we maybe mighta still pulled it out but the boys, especially the one who had to be next man up under center, had too much time to ponder his loss.

 

Ludwig's a baller and I hope he gets a look somewhere at the next level. Please tell him he knows who to call when he wants to go to Lambeau!!
